If you fly AS, that's not necessarily a problem (unless you fly exactly just enough to get a particular level of status with AS each year).
AS partners with a very wide number of airlines, and so if you get 10k with one of those airlines, by having some of your AS flights accrue toward the same airline, you can get to an award level with that airline for 15k steered toward that airlinei instead of toward AS.

Interesting. Could even be worth it if cheap rates are available. But the one part of the fine print that troubles me is the references to "qualifying rates", which are never defined. Anybody know what a "qualifying rate" is?

Are you sure they're never defined?
I mean, of course they're not defined in the promo itself. THat's because with pretty much all promos (unless they say otherwise) a rate that qualifies for the promo is the same as a rate that qualifies for the points/miles in the first place. And if you read the T&C for earning points, there should be something in there about qualifying rates.

Can anyone tell me if you are able to do this promotion for two seperate airlines. (Ex. stay 3 times and credit all to Delta, then stay 3 times and credit to NW) as I could then just transfer them together and essentially get 20,000 miles for 6 stays? Any thoughts?
Thanks

Already did my 3 last wkend for 10k CO miles. @ have posted already with notation to Continental for miles.^ I don't think you have worry too much about rates if you just click on "best prevailing rate" in the rate box it seems to match or beat internest,AAA,AARP rates. If you sign up for emails they''l send you out last minute specials acround country w/rates. Only way it can be cheaper I think is if property/ies you are thinking about allow 14-day pre-paid advance.

I've thought about the same thing myself. Right now, I have two future stays booked for hotel points. I could change another brand hotel rez to Wyndham brands to get the third night. Of course, I'd change my profile to airline miles from hotel points.

Agreed, if the airline miles you receive can do something for you.

No e-mail reponse, but I called and a rep said you there is no limit to times you can earn this bonus! IF that is the case, then the scenerio the zitozac posted about DL/NW would work. I can easily get 40k out of this to top off accounts.^ Is there any FFP that allows pooling of mileage? I wish I had a reponse on this in writing before I go wild on this.

Hello xxxx,
Thank you for contacting Wyndham Rewards(r).
The Triple Play promotion is valid for stays occurring between
05/14/2009 and 09/10/2009. Members who have elected to earn airline
miles or rail points with Air Canada, American, Continental, United, US
Airways, Spirit, Delta, Midwest, Northwest, Sun Country or Amtrak,
register for the promotion and complete three qualifying stays at three
different hotel brands during the promotional timeframe will receive
10,000 bonus miles. The member will need to check in between 05/14/2009
and 09/10/2009 and complete their stay by 10/10/2009. The stays must be
qualifying in order to be eligible for this promotion.
There is no limit to this promotion, therefore, the member will receive
10,000 bonus miles for every three stays at three different hotel
brands.
A stay is defined as any number of consecutive nights at one of our
participating hotel's regardless of check-ins or check-outs.
I have verified that you are registered for the Triple Play promotion.
You were registered for the promotion on 06/01/2009.
Please allow 10 days from your check-out date for the stays to appear on
your Wyndham Rewards account and 6 to 8 weeks from your check-out date
for the regular airline miles to post to your airline miles account.
Please be advised that the bonus miles will not be applied to the
account until 6 to 8 weeks after the promotion has ended (09/10/2009).
If you have additional questions, please contact Member Services at
1-866-996-7937 or via email at customerservice@wyndhamrewards.com. Our
Member Services hours are Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 11:00 pm EST or

This is still not crystal clear, does this mean if you have a stay at a Wyndham, Days Inn, and Hawthorn, you get 10,000 miles, so can your next three stays be at the same brands, or would they then have to be other brands?
I'm not sure I can trust this promotion unfortunately, I think I'll be happy with doing it once unless we can get more concrete confirmation.
Edited to add: Just to be clear, I don't expect miles_kay to have these answers, I'm just pointing out the challenges I see with this promotion! :)

Once you rgister for one airline on Wynham's website you don't have to re-register-at least that's what I have experienced when re-rgstring for Delta after my 3 stays w/Continental, as i got a mssge stated "you have already rgstrd for this promotion". I just went in and edited my profile to earn Delta miles. A 2nd phone coversation had the same response similiar to mileskay: unlimited earning potential. I won't say for sure as the wording is too ambigious, but the phone rep said it could be even earned w/same airline- just have 3 different stays every time. Oh how I wish they would have worded it in an email I received from Virgin about bonus w/Hyatt: earn this bonus "AGAIN AND AGAIN"!

As long as you have 3 different brands per 3 stays then you can pile on the miles to one airline; the CS agent said you could stay at a Super 8 every time as one of your 3 stays for example. These guys must be desperate for bookings cause if this right, I can EASILY get 100K for a max of $1800, and I can write off 25% of it for sure for business.

OK, lets see if I have this correct:
Register for promo changing my earning preference from Wyndham points to AA miles.
Stay at 3 different brands: Baymont, Days Inn, Super 8 (for example)
Get 10k AA miles...eventually.
Checked it out, all 3 posted to the Wyndham account as airline miles (AA) points.
Now, for round 2..... do I need to stay at 3 completely different brands to earn another 10k bonus on AA? (For example now I can only choose Knights, Hojo, or Ramada since I already stayed at Baymont, 8, and Days)
If I stay at another Baymont will it not count? Do I need to change my airline preference if I want to stay at another Baymont AND get the promo points?? Your post brought up some points I did not consider.

According to a phone rep u could stay at the same Super 8 again and again as long as it's shared w/2 other different brands for each 10K bonus for example. I dunno about this one- I still haven't heard back in email reply whether you can accumilate more than 10K miles in one airline just by staying at 3 diff brands per "segment". Also Super 8 is advertising 15% off advance purchase rates with ,I think, 8-day advance rez.

There is a link to request missing credit on the website. I have had to do this probably 4 or 5 times in the last couple of months and in EVERY instance, my miles were credited to my account within 1 day.

There is no limit to the amount of times you can earn the bonus miles. For instance, if you are planning a trip across country and stay at a Days Inn, Knights Inn, and Baymont, then stay at those exact same locations coming back, then you'd qualify for the bonus miles twice.
The miles are posted within 6-8 weeks AFTER the promotion ends, where WR will go back and view all your stays to see how many sets of bonus points you are to receive. Because of this, you cannot get 10,000 miles to American Airlines, and another 10,000 miles to Delta Skymiles. You can only select one airline...even if you call to change your earning preference, it will go to the airline that you are currently earning thru.
Only the member can earn credit for hotel stays. The member must be the one staying in the room and the reservation must match the name on the membership.
Hope this information helps.

Exactly how do u know this as the cr's I called and others who have also called on this thread feel that you can switch airline earning preference per 3 stays if we want to as the rep told me that. I can't believe that Wynham doesn't keep track of when I switch earning preference- they send me emails noting whne I change and if i didn't, go in and change it or contact them.

All correspondence I have received says a completed stay,i.e. actually staying there. And that means id even w/pre-paid c-card pyments. Some properties will want to swipe your card anyway in case for log-distance phone charges, room service charges, etc. in which case I don't see you being able to do this.

OK - I'm new to Wyndham Rewards, but I spotted this thread last Friday and immediately joined. I have three stays booked already this coming week. (KI,S8, and Baymont). Some newby questions:
1. I got the rates from their website - it seems AARP, AAA, etc. give the best deals and they all say "qualified". I'm assuming this means they will count for the promo. Correct?
2. Any 'gotchas' I should be aware of? For instance, for most of the Choice Privileges promos, you have to book on the website or via their phone number. Any similar restrictions here?
3. This is really a juicy promo - wish I'd seen it earlier. I figure I can get 40-50K miles by sloughing off the remainder of the CP promo, but if I decide to also bypass Marriott's promo, I can probably pick up 100K AA miles. Not too shabby, especially since the rates I'm getting will wind up saving me 40-50 bucks a week. Sweet. But ...
Has Wyndham ever run any promo like this before? Are they likely to run one again? If this is unique, I'll be more likely to pound it for all it's worth, rather than exercise moderation (ed note: is this a Flyertalker talking? :)) and fill in the other promos.
Anyhow, thinks to all who spotted this and did the legwork. I'm looking forward already to my next European trip on AA. :D

First of all, no, they have not run anything like this before. (Keep in mind that the program is even way newer than Choice Priviliges, it has been running under this name for less than a year, but before that as TripRewards it was slow to pick up partners and so only has had most of those airlines as partners a couple years at best.)
So, next point is, we don't have much to go on regarding what qualifies. (Most of the previous attention was on Best Rate Guarantees, because most previous non-targeted earning promos were pretty meager, like capped-at-4-stays double miles/points.)
Next point is, we still don't have anything in writing from anyone at WynhamRewards that this promo is repeatable. In this thread, we have no nay-sayers, but there's a parlallel thread in MilesBuzz, and in there someone says a CSR told them they cannot repeat for more 10K bonus miles! (If you call back and get different answers, is the one you like necessarily the correct one? Is the one you get more often necessarily the correct one?)
Next point is, at all hotel families I've stayed at, posting time occasionally varies (and maybe at this one it could vary more?). Thus with back-to-back stays, posting order can vary. In a Choice promo, unless you were alternating 5 point/$ and 10 point/$ properties in the spring bonus, it didn't matter if your stays got out of order. But since you need 3 different properites in each group of 3 stays, unless you're going to be alternating between way more than 3 properties, then out-of-order stay posting could possibly wreck this promo if stays made like this:
brand A
brand B
brand C
brand A
brand B
brand C
post in this order:
brand B
brand A
brand A
brand C
brand B
branc C
and if Wynham counts the "three different brands" in posting order (rather than stay order).
Finally, keep in mind that the only way they could count them in stay order is by waiting a long time before posting the bonus. And the claim is that they won't post any bonus until the bonus period is over. Meaning (given they've never run anything close to this before), we have no way of telling much of anything about how this promo will end up working from past experience, until after it's too late...
Oh, one more thing. Few people have much experience with earning miles directly before this, because outside this promo, you earn more miles by earning points and then converting (because of their unusual 8000 points to 3200 miles conversion rate). It certinaly has worked (I earned for NWA Pile on the Miles a couple months ago), but there've been no other miles promos within this program other than double miles/points before.

I just quoted AA since thats what BigLar mentioned for his/her miles credit.
See post #14 (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/11855392-post14.html). miles_kay got email confirmation that one can repeat the rewards.
And I have received email reponese also that have NOT specifically said that- the response was too vague. I WISH ALL the phone reps/email reponders were on the same page for this promo-and blame the original wording offer for that/ people in orginization for not making it clear down to the rsvrtn agents.

The promotion is not just for AA. It's the same 10K miles promo for almost all their airline partners:
Damn!
I wish they had BA in the list.

Talked with a nice csr today. She immediately confirmed that you could earn the bonus multiple times.
Fine - any limits?
Had to wait until she spoke with a supervisor.
Nope! Earn as many as you can.

Darn darn darn. I wish you had asked the third question: can you earn the bonuses on different airlines by changing your earnings preferences mid-way through the promotion? Personally, I think that this will not work. I think at the end of the promo period whatever airline you have selected at that time will be on whom you earn your bonuses. But I could very well be wrong. WR has not yet replied to my email asking this.

I once tried to split miles on a Marriott Travel Package, but they wouldn't let me.
Other than that, conventional wisdom around here is to concentrate miles in one program (or at least one alliance). I'm more than happy to pile all the miles I can get on a promo like this in one place and do no more than sigh wistfully about 'shoulda, woulda, coulda'.
As of last Friday morning, I was looking at my AA account as something I would either have to let go or maybe figure out some way to get enough miles to get any ticket anywhere.
And then the world changed ... :)
Assuming, of course, that we can get Wyndham to actually follow through on the whole thing. Frankly, this could turn out to be the most generous promotion I've ever seen. I wonder if Wyndham knows about people like us?

I did the same with US. I saw my 74K and said "either bring this up to 100K or start cashing in 25K awards. This promo is going to give me a fairly easy way to get 30K Div Miles.
There were some equally generous promos last year through Budget. 9,999 OnePass miles for a 5-day rental... then later in 2008 one could get 9,999 SkyMiles for a 1-day rental!! If you were a biz traveler these were quite lucrative promos... and one did not have to forego one's favorite hotel points. That's the only downside to this promo: I must forego HHonors or Marriott points to get the miles. No big deal.

I thought I'd share the reply I received. I hope this helps, especially with international locations. By the way, I recently stayed at a Days Inn. Upon check out, I heard the manager tell the front desk staff to ask for my Wyndham Rewards number. I told them I had made the reservation at wyndhamrewards.com while logged in so my number should be in the reservation. I was told that they had to enter it manually even if I had made the reservation at wyndhamrewards.com. Be sure to give your number even if you think it is in there.
Dear XXXXXX,
Thank you for your interest in the Wyndham RewardsŪ promotions.
I have verified that you are registered for the "Triple Play" promotion. You were registered for the promotion on May 20, 2009.
This promotion is open to all Wyndham Reward members who elect to earn airline miles or rail points
Members who have elected to earn airline miles or rail points, register for the promotion, and complete three qualifying stays at three different brands between 5/14/09 and 9/10/09 will receive 10,000 miles. The member will need to check in between 5/14/09 and 9/10/09 and complete their stay by 10/10/09.
This promotion is available for members who earn with our domestic airlines and rail partner. Aeroplan, American, Continental, United,
US Airways, Spirit, Delta, Midwest, Northwest, Sun Country, and Amtrak.
Note: The bonus for Sun Country will be 100 UFLY Points not 10,000 miles.
One stay is defined as any number of consecutive nights at one hotel regardless of the number of check-ins and check-outs.
Please allow 10 days from your check-out date for the stays to appear on your Wyndham Rewards account and 6-8 weeks after your third stay for the 10,000 miles or rail points to be credited to your account.
There is no limit to this promotion, for every three stays at three different bands the member will receive 10,000 miles.
Please note that participating hotels are Baymont Inn & Suites, Days InnŪ, Howard JohnsonŪ, Knights InnŪ, RamadaŪ, Super 8Ū, TravelodgeŪ*, Hawthorn SuitesŪ, Microtel Inn & Suites***, Wingate by WyndhamŪ hotels, and Wyndham Hotels and ResortsŪ** in the U.S.,(including Puerto Rico and Guam), Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, China, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Malta, Portugal, the Russian Federation, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Lithuania, Romania, Tunisia, Libya, Finland, Latvia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey.
If you have additional questions, please contact Member Services at 1-866-996-7937, or via email at customerservice@wyndhamrewards.com. Our Member Services hours of operation are Mon-Fri 9:00 am to 11:00 pm EST, Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm EST.
This is GREAT news. But still yet unconfimed: Can one earn bonuses on different airlines? Sounds like the process won't allow it since the bonuses show up 6-8 weeks after the third stay. So would I be safe in assuming that I would also wait 6-8 weeks after the 6th stay for an additional 10K? I can't see how one could work this promo for two airlines. Anyone got a theory?

Just booked my three stays, looks like it'll cost me right around $130.
7/2-7/3: Howard Johnson Kansas City Airport : $63
7/18-7/19: Ramada DFW North: $39
7/25-7/26: Super 8 Phoenix North: $29.
The last one will be a pure mattress run, I think my own bed is way more comfortable.

I've done 3 already this week, and I'm matress-running my 4th tonight while relaxing in a Hilton Suites. :)
My plan is to do 3 or 4 a week until the promo ends in September, or until it becomes clear that the promo is not going to deliver the miles.

The response from my inquiry via email includes the following:
Please allow 10 days from your check-out date for the stays to appear on your Wyndham Rewards account and the bonus miles will not be applied to the account until 6 - 8 weeks after the promotion has ended.
With this slight inconsistency I would stay on the safe side of the street by counting on only 1 airline (or Amtrak) for this promo. YMMV
I need some advice. I could use this promo to "round out" one of four accounts but, honestly, I am not up for researching the award redemption levels for every airline with whom I have balances. I have almost 1M DL/NW miles and earn more everyday so those programs are out for this promo. My first thought was to top off my US account but I think I should get some input from other FTers. I have a guarantee of qualifying for 40K miles from this promotion before July 25 (12 reservations). I have a strong likelihood of even more 10K bonuses in August. But for now I am seeing only 40K total. I like Europe the most but am open to all parts of the world and prefer biz/fc of course. (Some want two coach trips rather than one trip up front. Not me :p ) My home is FLL. I have status on none of the airlines below. Any thoughts?
Current balances:
CO - 100K
UA - 26K << no longer in FLL or PBI :(
US - 74K
AA - 6K
Any chance I can get Virgin Upper Class out of this?

I would go with US simply because you definitely will get a 50% bonus on the regular miles you earn for stays through 7/31 and if you complete 3 stays before then US implied you would get the 50% bonus on the 10k mile bonus, though I'm a bit dubious of how the timing on that is going to work and the email US sent out (which I unfortunately did not save ) was hardly crystal clear on this.

I found the following link from the USairways home page, http://www.wyndhamrewards.com/usairways/
From the link above, "Register and stay with 3 different brands in our Wyndham Hotel Group family from May 14, through September 10, 2009 and we'll reward you with 10,000 US Airways Dividend miles.
This promotion gives you more:
* Earn standard miles for all qualified stays
* Earn at over 6,000 locations around the globe
* Stay anytime no blackout dates
* Plus 10,000 bonus miles
Plus, earn 50% more Dividend Miles* with US Airways Summer Blockbuster with every stay through July 31, 2009. That means you could earn over 15,000 miles.
You have to register for both promotions to get the Triple Stay bonus plus the 50% more miles from US Airways."
It sounds rather clear to me.

I've got a road trip out to my 2nd home near RDU and later a return to Colorado. Have a HoJo, Days Inn, and Ramada booked on the way out. Plan to use a Knights Inn, Super8, and a Microtel on the way back. Want and set up for CO miles on the outbound, but want DL miles for the other 3 stays.
Given the ambiguity about switching partners mid-promo, I think I'm going to set up a 2nd Wyndham Rewards account using my Raleigh address, with a different email address, and book my 3 stays for the return trip credited to that 2nd WR account, set for the airline I want for the 2nd batch of 10,000 miles.
It's the only way to be sure.

Everytime I received miles in one account for the 3 stays and then switched airlines, Wyndham shows where the stays are credited to. I don't see any reason why they can't see if you have switched earning partners; of course the question is if they allow this so as to get the bonus with as many different airlines as time allows within the promotion period. And there still is no clear answer IN PRINT FROM THEM.

I think it depends on how they query their database when they are ready to credit the bonuses. If they include which airline one which you received regular miles they might see "3 credits to AA with 3 different brands" and then award one 10K AA miles. But they could also look at it like this "3 different plans and one's current miles partner is AA."

It sounds rather clear to me.The potential gotcha is the timing of when the 10,000 mile bonus posts and with what posting date. The US promotion ends on July 31, 2009 and all activity must be posted by September 30, 2009 to be eligible for the 50% bonus. The Wyndham promotion says the bonus will be posted:
six to eight weeks after the completion of promotion Which isn't quite clear that it's six to eight weeks after the third stay or the promotion period of September 10, 2009. If it's the latter, there could definitely be a problem getting the 50% bonus on the 10,000 mile bonus.
We also have to hope that Wyndham makes the activity date of the 10,000 mile bonus prior to July 31, 2009, hopefully the activity date will be that of the third stay that qualifies one for the bonus, but that is hardly guaranteed.
All that being said, I'm hoping for the best, I am crediting my stays to US for this and hoping it works out and I get my 5,000 mile bonus, but I'm far from confident I'll get it.
One would hope that since both Wyndham and US have promoted the promotions together that it will work out they combine correctly.

Is there a current Microtel promotion going? I did a mattress run on a recent Indiana trip and got the AA miles:
American AAdvantage Miles Jun 3, 2009 Jun 4, 2009 $ 64 128 AMERICAN AIRLINES AADVANTAGE INDIANAPOLIS, IN Confirmed
But also got this Microtel bonus posted to my account:
Microtel Bonus Points Jun 3, 2009 Jun 4, 2009 $ 2000 1 2,000 INDIANAPOLIS
I am not complaining, but I am planning the second mattress run for the second 10K points, credited this time to USAir. If I get the points on Microtel runs, then I would like to double dip!!!!

To qualify for the Wyndham RewardsŪ 1,000 Bonus Point Promotion and earn 1,000 bonus Wyndham Rewards points per qualified stay, the member must (i) stay at a qualifying rate at a hotel participating in the Wyndham Rewards 1,000 Bonus Point Promotion (ii) check-in between July 1, 2009 and August 31, 2009 and, (iii) check-out no later than September 30, 2009. If a member does not elect to receive Wyndham Rewards points in their member profile, they will receive their regular airline miles or rail points for the qualified stays and 1,000 bonus Wyndham Rewards points in the promotion. Rates offered by most on-line travel agencies and certain other rates do not qualify. One stay includes all consecutive nights at the same hotel regardless of check-ins or check-outs. I take it that with tax etc it will cost me say $150 for 3 nights that will give me 10,000 miles so for 25k that would cost me $375 heck for $375 I can buy almost any transcon tkt and earn 5000 EQMs and fly when I want to and not when or if the Carrier has a Saver seat available for the dates I want to go
that same $150 can get me 2 nights at certain *W Hotels that will yield me 2 more stay credits toward Plat as well as a free weekend night up to a Cat6 anywhere which can be worth a few $100
So right now I wont be doing this promo at least not before 8/1 when *Ws promo ends. But cant see doing a MR just for the Miles as for me it doesnt add up. Now if I needed a place to sack out and dont mind Basic Motels thats someting else

still @ 1.5 CPM its not a Great deal IMO, and with the way Intl fares are so way down I probably would fly Coach on an ElCheapo rather then go for Free in Biz or FC or use the miles for an Upgrade and earn the EQMs if still needed.
I understand if it can be had a FC to Europe would mean paying $1500 but since its only good 1 time per Carrier then all 1 can earn is 1/10 of a free FC to Europe, but on paper its $1500 for a FC even thou you cant actually earn 100k on 1 carrier thru the promo
again not a bad thing , but not something Id do a mattress run for. heck 2 orders of coins can get me that same 10k w/o a dime out of my pocket:cool:

Wyndham accomplished what they set out to do. They got me to try brands I have either never used or haven't used in over 20 years. Because they have confirmed that I can repeat brands and still get the bonus for every three brands I use until Sept 10 I calculate that each night is worth: base miles from Wyndham + 3,333 bonus miles from Wyndham + 50% bonus on both base & bonus miles from the US Airways 50% summer promo. Here's my report ranked best experience to worst:
Ramada Plaza, Northglenn, CO - $84.60 - Great value for the money. Bar/restaurant in the hotel. Free BIG breakfast bar. Very nice room. Hotel setup (indoor room access as opposed to motel setup with exterior doors to rooms)
Baymont Inn & Suites, Fife, WA - $98.10 - Motel setup. Best experience of the Tacoma, WA area for Wyndham hotels but the most expensive. Go figure.
Howard Johnson, Fife, WA - $89.99 - Motel setup.
Days Inn Tacoma Mall, Tacoma WA - $60.00 - Both indoor and outdoor access to rooms. Pool.
Super 8, Federal Way, WA - $62.89 - Hotel setup. Expected the absolute least but was pleasantly surprised.
Microtel Denver Airport, $59.40 - Hotel setup. Great front desk people. Soon to be re-modeled.
Travelodge, Fife, WA - $59.99 - Motel setup. Even with the very nice front desk receptionist (owner?) this place ranks last because it is a real dump. Couldn't leave fast enough.
I'll be returning in a few weeks to the Tacoma area. I will repeat all the hotels in this area except for the Travelodge. All the room rates are cheaper than what I would have spent with my normal travel habits. So I save quite a bit of money doing this 1-star-mattress-run. I have 5 more nights reserved so I am looking at a total of 12 nights before the end of July. I predict the total I'll get from this promo (w/o counting cc miles for the room charges) will be 62,448 US Div Miles. :) I don't know yet my travel plans for Aug through Sep 10 so maybe I'll get even more :D

Various replys from customer service reps say this offer IS repeatedable which have been posted here if u took time enough to read this thread. I guess we will have to see when the promotion ends. If that IS the case, then 100K on one carrier is feasible and with a lot less time involved flying. You could do three different brands in one nite if possible. Or at least one a day spend no more than 5mins @ each property checking in. Where else are you going to spend 30 minutes to an hr going to 3 props each and get 10K, of which some of these I can use for biz travel? Surely not flying. And for award travel I'd rather burn 25K miles for a saver award MLI-SLC in February to go skiing than pay over $450. Half the trip is on a RJ anyways.

normally I'm with you and have been *W plat for many years but the promo you mention for me personally is no good as I don't have time to use the free nights before they expire.
I've been enjoying some very cheap stays and buiding back up the account of an airline I've actually never flown but just burned two biz class tickets to Europe on.
So $$$ saved (lots of personal stays) and 10k to boot for every 3 stays, this one makes a lot of sense in my world.
I don't think I would have done this promo from a pure mattress run angle unless I needed 10k to top off an account for international tickets as Upstate mentions.
As always YMMV so do what makes sense for oneself, gotta love FT^

I verified when checking in at both hotels that my WR # was in the reservation. I verified again when checking out the following morning.
Does anyone have experience with different brands posting with different lag times? I contacted WR via their web site. Last time I did this the response was fairly quick. However the first time I used their web site to contact them I did not hear back for 3 weeks.

normally I'm with you and have been *W plat for many years but the promo you mention for me personally is no good as I don't have time to use the free nights before they expire.
Yep definitely a YMMV issue
I earned 5 1/2 free weekend nights will end with 6. more important even if I dont use them is the 12 Stay credits it earned me as I had only 4 before that and need 25 by 12/31 to Maintain my Plat status. So with what will be 9 Stays to go I should have any problems getting it done by 12/31 which would have been alot harder w/o these 12 Stays

Still a little unclear as to what a "qualifying rate" is. From the T&Cs:
Qualifying Rates include all rates except for the following: employee/family, travel agent, group, wholesale, package transportation/crew and other special contract rates, or free night stays. Most rates available through tour operators and travel websites (excluding Wyndham Rewards.com and the Participating Hotel Chain websites) such as Priceline, Hotwire, Expedia, Travelocity, and Orbitz are wholesale rates and therefore do not qualify to earn Wyndham Rewards points, airline miles or rail points.
That's all well and good, but I always use a discount code from my auto club which gets me about 15% off. My rate for an upcoming Baymont stay is listed as "Volume Disc Rate -wr" when I book. Does that "-wr" mean "no Wyndham Rewards," or does it simply indicate that I'm a WR member and booked through the WR site?
I'm just confused, because I book Choice properties with a legitimate SOS code all the time and they're always eligible for points/miles.

<SNIP> The first two were Ramada and Microtel on 6/26 and 6/27.
Microtel had only been a part of Wyndham for ~2 weeks at the time of your stay, not that I think thats a valid excuse.

I registered for a WR number earlier this month cuz I was about to book a room. I guess I never logged in at the website, though, so when I was looking at my airline website today it had a link to this thread's promotion. I clicked.
I was presented with an additional offer -- "Reward yourself even faster. Book your next stay and earn 10,000 bonus miles." -- probably due to my first-timer login. Sounded good so I booked a room I don't even need. 10,000 miles for about $50 seemed too good to pass up.
Am I crazy?
P.S. That hotel turns out also to be a participant in the 1000-point bonus (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/12029737-post60.html), hmmm (I probably won't ever use those points).

I stayed at a Microtel on Sunday night. (First-ever Microtel stay for me - very pleased, especially for $43.) I asked during check-in if my WR number was on the reservation, and it was not, even though I booked with it. The manager said "the Wyndham site doesn't send them through anymore." I had the number handy, the desk clerk wrote it down in a binder, and my miles posted today. (No 1,000-point bonus for that property.)
I have done four stays in the last 10 days, and the points/miles have all posted very quickly. I'm quite surprised given some of the comments. Wyndham properties are definitely not my first choice, and this program sucks outside of promos like this, but I'm glad my experience has been decent.

I laugh because the cost to them of this promotion is more than the total revenue of the properties on the 3 night stays. But more so because the purpose of the promo is to try and get people to try the different brands to see .... presumably... how GOOD they are?!? When its having the opposite affect, at least on me, of reminding me how bad some of them are!
Im at the Wingate tonight and Hawthorne tomorrow which are nice but the Ramada last night was a little scary... my only other choices are Super 8, Days Inn, and Knights Inn which all have scary reviews too. I just need one more decent one but can't find it in this town (Allentown, PA)

Except for Wyndham mainline and Wingate I expect no consistency with WR hotels. Travelodge is the worst in my experience. I pulled up to a Knights Inn once in Atlanta and didn't even get out of the car. It was WAY too scary and I am pretty sure there was a prostitute soliciting from the second floor.
FYI, the Baymont in Fife, WA was not quite as good as the Wingates I have known but was just fine and I would stay there again. I don't know if Baymonts are consistent since this was my first time at one.

I loved the WR BRG, so I stayed in more WR properties than most on this board...here's the perception I have of most of the brands...
Wyndham Resorts - Always nice, but sometimes overpriced for what they offer.
Wingate - My favorite. Clean, very nice rooms, great breakfast, great amenities.
Ramada - Most of the Ramadas that I have stayed in have been the nicer of Wyndham's "lesser" brands.
Travelodge - Relatively the same as Ramada, though more hit & miss. I've seen a few Travelodges that left a bit to be desired, but for example, where I am now (Saskatoon, SK Canada), the Travelodge is one of the nicest (non-luxury) hotels and where NW puts up its crews.
Baymont - All the ones I stayed in had a great morning breakfast (like Wingates) but the rooms weren't as nice as Wingates. Generally all positive experiences though.
Super 8 - Pretty basic accomodations and sparse continental breakfast. More consistent in cleanliness and quality than Days Inn.
Days Inn - Just about the lowest tier of WR properties. Consistency varies GREATLY. Either they can be very nice or VERY bad & shady.
Amerihost (Now Baymont) - The only I've stayed in was in WV. No problems at all, but I didn't have a lot of experience with the brand (before it was absorbed).
Howard Johnson - More likely to be crappy than quality. Stayed in one in upstate NY that was pretty decent, but otherwise, rather low-end.
Knights Inn - Hooker motels. Enough said.

I just wrapped up my third stay.
July 2-3 - Howard Johnson KCI, MO. Decent hotel, room was old, staff was good, breakfast decent (but started at 4 AM). $65.
July 18-19 - Ramada DFW Airport North, TX. Decent hotel, room was better than Howard Johnson though the TV didn't work. Staff was mixed, breakfast was cold pastries. $39.
July 31-August 1 - Days Inn PHX, AZ. Decent hotel. Room was tolerable. As I live here I checked in then drove back the next day to check out. $39.
Now let's see if the miles post.

2-3c a mile I guess...
$200-300 thereabouts
How much does Wyndham profit on 3 nights? $60?
That's advertising, costs you way more than one purchase to bring them in the door... you hope to make an impression that sticks in the long run. Better have a product that will impress the buyer!

A few posters in this thread have confirmed with Wyndham Rewards CS that this promo is supposed to be repeatable. You can stay at the same three brands twice and get the bonus twice... or at least, that's what some of us have been told.
We have done 2 series of 3 stays, for the promotion - a WR operator told us you can do as many as you like and get 10,000 miles for each set of 3 different hotels, but if anyone also gets an email confirmation on this, we would be interested in seeing it too. Wow - hadn't stayed at Wyndhams before, and, as others have noted, not likely to do so again.... i
Funny thing - only the stays at the Knights Inn hotels did not post, and we had to call WR each time to get them posted - a glitch for that chain only?
Like others, looking forward to the miles posting after the promo is over.

I too am concerned we don't have this in writing. Once they realize how much they need to pony up they may back off the responses we got. After next week I will have done it 3 times and think I will hedge my bet and stop there although I think I can work in 2 or 3 more times. I also have to balance this with a Hilton Diamond VIP challenge I am on that I need to make sure I complete!

I realize FTs may have been told this by CS, but I'd like it in writing, in an email. Some of these places are rat holes where I check-in, go to the room, mess up the bed and leave. I don't mind buying the <$40 room and leaving if this is going to get me the bonus. I just don't want to be doing this only to give Wyndham a economic stimulus.

I have emailed 2 different persons on their executive board on this issue and no response. As you say a customer rep saying it's repeateable even to the point of the same 3 properties time after time is one thing. It's another to have someone up the ladder to confirm it in writing. It would be curious to know how much of a bounce their rsvrtns are due to thios promo. And speaking of rat holes, a Knights Inn in Orlando; I wouldn't even mess up the bed with my hands it looked so bad. I stood on it, kicked the sheets around, threw towels in the shower for 30 seconds then left.

OK, I just thought I'd clear up a question that I called a Wyndham rewards CSR about. I ask what if I ended up staying at brands in this order:
Travelodge
Super 8
Super 8
Ramada
Days Inn
Howard Johnson
She said that the 2nd stay at Super 8 ends up moving down the list until its able to be used as one of the 3 stays for the promo. So then the groups would be:
Travelodge
Super 8
Ramada
Super 8
Days Inn
Howard Johnson
I was afraid it would throw a wrench in the whole line up if you got an extra one in there.
On a side note, I have to say that after staying at Choice Hotels, Wyndham properties are a hard pill to swallow.

per the T&C
Members should allow six to eight weeks after completion of registration and stay for the standard airline miles to be credited to their account, and six to eight weeks after the completion of promotion for the bonus 10,000 airline miles to be credited to their account
Since the promotion ends Sept 10 I would guess that the bonus miles won't be "due" until around October 24 at the earliest.

Actually I have two concernts. Same as n dakota but also with whether or not US will honor the 50% Summer Bonus promo when the 10K bonuses from Wyndham finally post. Wyndham promoted the two offers together - here (http://www.wyndhamrewards.com/usairways/?brandCode=NA&siteEntryCode=Summer09UN).
Join the Triple Stay Promotion and earn more than 10,000 milesPlus, earn 50% more Dividend Miles* with US Airways Summer Blockbuster with every stay through July 31, 2009. That means you could earn over 15,000 miles.
Hopefully Wyndham will back date the 10K bonuses when they post to the date of the 3rd stay. If not, I suspect it will be difficult for one to get US to honor the 5K bonus miles per bonus. I had 12 stays all ending before July 31 so I am expecting (read "hoping") to get a total of 60K miles.

I did my 3 stays Aug 3-5th and have only had 1 stay post (the Aug 5th stay).
I called Customer Service and they said I need to wait 6-8 weeks for them to credit a missing stay?
I filled out the on line missing stay request and didn't hear back from them in the 3-5 days it tells you that you will hear back.
I called the 2 hotels that haven't posted and they both confirmed my Wyndam # was on the record.
I sure hope this works out as these hotels were real dumps. The Knights Inn in Abilene TX had cockroaches jumping all over the place (meaning inside the room). Luckily it was so late that the kids thought it was just a dead bug. First time ever I actually put a chair up against the room door just in case....
Was considering doing 3 stays for my wife's account just close by in Austin so we wouldn't have to actually stay in the room but am a bit skeptical on getting stay credit.

We did a 3-day minor league baseball trip staying at Wyndham Rewards motels to get 10k points for my wife's account. One stay posted in a few days, the other in 2 weeks, and the 3rd only after almost 4 weeks. Each posted to her airline account on a Wednesday.
My two stays each posted to my account in less than 2 weeks.
I haven't had the bad experiences many have mentioned, perhaps because my standards are so low to begin with. There, now I've really jinxed myself for the up-coming final stay at a Days Inn in Wisconsin.
I have noticed that Microtel rooms are *really* small, and was amused that the back of the desk chair at the Wyndham Hotel I stayed in seemed to have been stabbed 4 times. No blood stains, though.

-------
Hello RJ,
Thank you for contacting Wyndham Rewards(r).
Please accept my apology for the delayed reply to your email. We have
been experiencing higher than expected email volume.
I received your e-mail regarding the "Triple Play Promotion".
In order to qualify for this promotion a member must register for the
promotion and be earning airline miles. You were registered for this
promotion on 07/17/2009. Members will need to check in between 5/14/09
and 9/10/09 and complete their stay by 10/10/09.
Members who have elected to earn airline miles or rail points with our
domestic airlines and rail partner, Aero Plan, American, Continental,
United, US Airways, Spirit, Delta, Midwest, Northwest, Sun Country and
Amtrak, must complete three qualifying stays at three different brands
between 5/14/09 and 9/10/09 to receive 10,000 airline miles or rail
points.
There is no limit to this promotion, for every three stays at three
different bands the member will receive 10,000 miles.
*The bonus for Sun Country will be 100 UFLY Points.
**Please note also, the bonus miles with this promotion are not added to
a member's airline miles account until the completion of the promotion.
These miles will be added as miles with the Earning Partner on the
member's account at the time the bonus miles are added to the member's
account.
If you have additional questions, please contact Member Services at
1-866-996-7937 or via email at customerservice@wyndhamrewards.com. Our
Member Services hours are Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 11:00 pm EST or

Plus, earn 50% more Dividend Miles* with US Airways Summer Blockbuster with every stay through July 31, 2009. That means you could earn over 15,000 miles.
You have to register for both promotions to get the Triple Stay bonus plus the 50% more miles from US Airways. (http://www.usairways.com/summerblockbuster)
It is now gone... yet the promotion is still ongoing as it expires on Sept 10. I fear the following scenario: When the 10K miles finally post to my US account I will not see the 50% summer blockbuster bonus. I will wait an appropriate time for the bonus to post. After nothing posts I will contact US. US will tell me the bonus only applies to the posting through July 31 or something to that affect. I will contact Wyndham and they will say "contact US".

This is a bit troubling for those of us who were trying to get 10K in multiple programs. I did 3 earlier with DL and just recently did 3 with US to get hits in their promotion (and the 10K). Was hoping to get 10K for each program added, though now it seems my 20K will go in whatever program I have selected at the date they post them.

Personally, I never thought Wyndham would have the capability to allow for earnings towards different programs. The fact that the bonuses were going to be awarded at the end of the promotion (established early on in the promo) quashed any thoughts I had about spreading earnings across US and another airline(s). For them to award the bonuses through automation (and not manual entries) they would have to keep track of each program one selected for each trio of stays and then writing code that would use this history when submitting the 10K bonuses. I just don't see them going through this effort. It would be great, for sure, but unlikely IMHO.
I could be (and hope for the sake of others) that I am wrong. Hopefully they will see activity like this:
1) Three stay awards for three brands awarded to US DM#12X4Y67.
2) Send 10K DMs to DM#12X4Y67
1) Three more stay awards for three brands to DL SM#9876543310.
2) Send 10K SMs to SM#9876543210

I just don't think Wyndham is set up for that sort of flexibility, especially for this promotion. It would be a different story if the points had posted not long after each group of 3 stays.
I was very careful to book six brands back-to-back for each run at 3 10K promos. This way if 1, 2, or all 3 were delayed in posting for some reason it would have a less likely chance of screwing up my system.
I can see where there would be problems with individual postings for each group of three.
Chronological stay order:
Brand A
Brand B
Brand C
--------- << 10K bonus post
Brand C
Brand B
Brand A
-------- << 10K bonus post
The above would clearly earn the member 2 10K bonuses. But if the posting for the for the first stay at Brand A were to be delays so the posting order appeared as such:
Brand B
Brand C
Brand C
Brand B
Brand A << out of order posting
-------- << 10K bonus post, brands C,B & A
Brand A
The above might appear that the member earned only one bonus of 10K if the algorithm were written to spot the first 3 unique-brand stays.
My chronological stays were
| ABC | DEF | GCD | FGD | - but they posted....
| CDE | FGC | DFG | DAB |
Since I did not know if the system would flag (and possibly award in spite of the T&C) each 3 as they posted I never let two brands, chronological by stay date, be closer than 3 spaces apart - DFGD.
(And yes, in this depre.... er, I mean... recession, I find I have a lot of time on my hands as I am underemployed by 50% :(. So if anyone is tempted to say "get a life" I ask, would you walk up to someone in the unemployment line and say that? :p - [don't answer that question])

(And yes, in this depre.... er, I mean... recession, I find I have a lot of time on my hands as I am underemployed by 50% :(. So if anyone is tempted to say "get a life" I ask, would you walk up to someone in the unemployment line and say that? :p - [don't answer that question])[/QUOTE]
Maybe YOU should work for Wyndham's marketing dept.: then I KNOW I would get my bonus to any airline I wanted!!;)

Better yet... IT department. I don't want to market the damn promos (but I could sure tear apart their T&Cs).
I think however that I would have less fun on the other side.

i don't normally stay at Wyndham properties but i did 3 for this promo. I'm getting a little worried about my third one (sept 4) since it hasn't posted yet and it was close to the end of the promo.
Can anyone speak from experience on what's typical posting time for wyndham rewards to DL? it was a microtel stay.

Since Microtel joined Wyndham Rewards only recently I had the same problem. I have heard others have had trouble too. I wrote to WR via their web site. The stay was 1 night on 6/26. It posted to my US account on 8/5 shortly after I contacted WR.
I can't just blame Microtel. Ramada was similiar. I stayed on 6/25 and it posted to my US account on 8/5 shortly after I contacted WR.

I missed my third one at HJ for my stays in August. I did wait for about a week. After that, I just sent them an email and two days later they fixed it.

thanks for the tips, my microtel stay posted a few days after i submitted the web request. they actually replied to the web request just to say it had already posted, not sure if that means they posted it or it coincidentally posted the same day they looked into it. either way I have my 3... now for the 10k miles!

Actually the T&C said 6-8 weeks. Six weeks = 42 days. The promo ended on Sept 10. I expect nothing to be posted prior to Oct 22. I would love it if they would post prior. If nothing posts after the first week of November then I (and many others) will start contacting WR for answers.

I have a post in my account on 10/9 for 10K miles to US (have not hit US account yet). Unfortunately I don't have any for DL. I did 3 DL stays, then 3 US stays - both blocks seperated by a over a month. Hopefully they are working backwards through them and those of us that hopped airlines won't have a problem. Anyone that did more than one bonus with the same airline get them yet?
Here is what the posting looks like:

If I had any 10K bonuses post to either my WR account or my US account I would be able to answer that. :( If anything posts this week I will be half-happy. It will be worth it for me if I don't have to fight US and WR for the 50% summer blockbuster promo that US offered and WR touted with this promotion.

Well it looks like AA is in the lead. Perhaps WR is processing the bonuses alphabetically. Guess where US will land.
BTW, for anyone hoping to get a 50% bonus on US miles. Here is a little except from the US T&C for the Summer Blockbuster 50% bonus promo:
The last date that an Eligible transaction can be posted for Bonus consideration is September 30, 2009. Bonus miles will post weekly beginning on May 13, 2009.
A) It sucks that WR promoted getting a 50% bonus with US miles ("That means you could earn over 15,000 miles.") when their own T&C make this impossible.
B) If WR really did start posting bonus miles beginning on May 13 I think someone here on FT would have reported getting their miles.

I seriously doubt I am going to get the 50% US Summer Blockbuster bonus. So I have two different calculations on $/RDM. I had 12 nights all biz related. Avg per night is $83.93 after taxes.
With US promo:
$1,007.18 / 62,680 US DMs = $0.016/RDM

$1,007.18 / 42,680 US DMs = $0.024/RDM

Almost a 50k threshhold, for signing up for a promotion. Sweet!
I'd have taken it upon myself to get that down to $33 all-in per night (per less), just for the challenge of the matress runs. I figure someone could have "stayed" all 150+ nights of the promotion, and scored 50+ "3x" postings. Wonder if there was a limit on concurrent stays...

I had email Wyndham CS to try to ensure I would get both DL and US bonuses. I have the US 10K one in my WR account (more recent stays) though it hasn't posted to US yet. I inquired as to where my 10K for DL stays were (done in May/June). After an intial response that I already had my 10K and me insisting I didn't have my DL 10K here is what I got:
I have verified that you are registered for the Triple Play promotion.
Please allow 10 days from your check-out date for the stays to appear on
your Wyndham Rewards account and the bonus miles will not be applied to
the account until 6 - 8 weeks after the promotion has ended.
You will receive your second 10,000 bonus miles and it will post to your

Thus, it is looking up for those that have multiple airlines in this promo. Just wanted to share another data point with the group.

For some of us it looks like WR is headed closer to the 8 week time frame rather than 6 weeks. The promo ended on Sept 10. Here it is Oct 26 I have have not gotten my 10K bonuses yet to my US account. Six weeks from Sept 10 landed on Oct 22. Eight weeks will land on Nov 5.
It never ceases to amaze me the contradiction that companies make with regard to marketing promotions. Here they were trying to encourage business for their program with a hefty miles promotion. But what has ended up happening is that I am so much more LESS likely to want to stay at WR properties in the future.
Since I can't get anything but a standard form email reply to my web correspondence (I don't need the T&C quoted to me AGAIN! and you never addressed my questions or even read them!) I am giving them until Nov 5 and then I start a snail mail campaign.

I called a CSR at WR (866-996-7937). He confirmed that the eight week mark is Nov 5. I also asked him about the 50% bonus through US' Summer Blockbuster Promo. He claimed that the bonus miles will be back-dated to the date of the stays (for me July) and I should be eligible for the extra 5000 miles. I told him that I contacted US (by phone) and it clearly states in their (US') T&C that anything that posts after Sept 30, 2009 will not be eligible for the 50% bonus. He was rather dumbfounded and had nothing to add.
I congratulate the AA and Amtrak members who got their bonus miles. And I say this with quite a bit of envy.

Call again and tell the rep that this too is B.S. The T&C say:
Members should allow six to eight weeks after completion of registration and stay for the standard airline miles to be credited to their account, and six to eight weeks after the completion of promotion for the bonus 10,000 airline miles to be credited to their account
It is NOT after they send the miles over to United. They are playing the numbers game (chicken). Some will eventually give up. I'm not sure which BBB to contact but I will be finding out soon. My US miles haven't posted today. They've pi$$ed off the wrong pit bull.

What I got today was that my "miles would be posted with WR November 10, which is 8 weeks after the promotion closed." I reminded WR that that would be 2 months, not 8 weeks as the T & Cs stated, but I wouldn't split hairs with them.
I was told I'd still have to wait for UA to post them, which could be weeks. I don't need them right away so I'll be happy when and if they finally post. It takes Hyatt weeks after they show up on my GP account to post on my UA account as well.

I just E-Mailed customer service, and I'll post their reply in this thread.
I had the privilege of staying at a Super 8 that I wouldn't send my worst enemy to--- very warn down, very dangerous location. No way would I have stayed there if I didn't get the 10,000 AAdvantage miles.
I've earned those miles! :D [just like the countless other FT'ers that had a stellar stay at one of the "premium" Wyndham properties]
Perhaps besides contacting the BBB, perhaps a complaint is warranted to the Federal Trade Commission by those that have been given B.S. answers by Wyndham.

I should have 100000 miles plus the 50% US Air bonus from my Wyndham stays this past summer. Points are still not there. I talked with Wyndham Rewards this morning and was advised that Account Supervisor "Les" stated that the points would be manually processed by the 20th of November.
It's going to get really interesting if the points are not done by the 20th.

My 10K US miles posted to my US account this afternoon with an activity date of 10/9, which is the same date they showed up in my Wyndham account.
Now I just have to fight over my 10K Delta, which are nowhere to be seen.

I should have 100000 miles plus the 50% US Air bonus from my Wyndham stays this past summer. My 10,000 US miles posted today, but I have little doubt it will be a battle to get the US 50% bonus (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/us-airways-dividend-miles/951025-us-summer-promotion-50-hotel-car-activity-includes-hotel-point-transfers.html) considering the posting date is clearly outside the rules of the promo.
That being said, I would say there is no chance excep that I have an email dated May 19, 2009 from USAirways stating:
Triple Stay! Earn more miles than ever.
Stay at any 3 of the 11 brands in the Wyndham Rewards loyalty program from May 14 - September 10, 2009, and earn 10,000 miles. Choose from over 6,000 locations worldwide with no blackout dates.
Plus, earn 50% more Dividend Miles* with our Summer Blockbuster with every stay through July 31, 2009. That means you could earn over 15,000 miles.
You have to register for both promotions to get the Triple Stay bonus and 50% more miles. It only takes a minute, so register now and start earning.

Contacted WR by phone today. The original CSR said it would take another week. She also claims that Nov 10 is 8 weeks from Sep 10. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He was not helpful and rude. He called me rude. He said there is no way for anyone at WR to grant the miles. (FYI, my bonuses are due for US). I asked when I might see the miles he said "as soon as possible". I told him the first CSR said 1 week. He repeated "as soon as possible."
They have no intention of honoring the promotion per the T&C. (my assertion not his)
I asked for the location of the WR headquarters so I can contact the BBB. It's Aberdeen, SD. I then asked who above him could I speak with next.
(paraphrasing but not embellishing for my own benefit)
He said "She can't enter your miles either."
Me: "So no one can grant me the miles the promotion offered?"
He: "Correct. If I had the power he would do it right now. She hasn't the ability either."
He wouldn't give me a phone number or email for the Director of Wyndham Rewards. But he gave me her snail mail address. PM me if you want it AND intend on using it.
Anyone else see DL miles yet? I'm still owed 10K DL and no sign of them. Sent a follow-up email to the prior customer service emails that said "I would get them..." and wait "6-8 weeks after end of promotion". We will see what they say - might be going the same route as Evan! if the response isn't satisfactory.

The miles/points program doesn't matter. He didn't even know I was expecting US miles until 1/2 way through the conversation. I even asked if this was a US Airways issue. I told him I would change to another program over the phone if US was blocking the posting. He said there is no way to grand miles/points on any program and they will post "as soon as we can".

I just talked to a supervisor regarding this. Here is my understanding:
Wyndham has told the airlines (UA in my case) who gets the bonus miles. I am not clear on whether Wyndham bought the miles or some other situation. In any case, Wyndham has sent the list of qualifying accounts to the airlines. Here's where it gets dumb.
Apparently there is some mess up which requires the data to be entered manually. Whose fault it is was unclear. The supervisor I talked to suggested I call UA. Hahahaha. Right.
According to him: Everyone should get their miles in time.
This, however, does not endear me to Wyndham. I'll be calling them next week to follow up.

Similar to my interaction with Wyndham but you got more information than I did. I wasn't told anything about the mess up with the data. I asked if I need to call US and was told that would not help. It's not a US issue I was told. So I am thinking it probably wouldn't help to call UA. I envy the few that have seen their miles.

This will be the focus of my next call. Right now, I'm not too itchy. But another call could cause me to point out my annual spend with them. Admittedly not huge, but 30 nights per year probably isn't anything to sniff at in a very competitive industry.

I got my 40K US Miles :D I got a call from someone at WR. I was not able to answer the phone as I was in line at security for a flight home. This was yesterday, Nov 13. She told me that my 40K miles had been sent over to US. If I don't see them soon she instructed me to contact US. I pulled out my laptop and checked my DM account. Voila. They were there.
However I still have to go back to WR because the "Date" column has 10/7, 10/8, 10/9, and 1/10 respectively for each 10K bonus. The "Post Date" has the same for each - 10/13. I had been told by WR previously that the post date would be noted as 9/30 so I would be eligible for the 50% bonus from US' summer blockbuster promo.
I am relieved to get the 40K.
I am not done with WR yet on getting the additional 20K they dangled in front of me.
I am impressed that someone from WR called me.
Evan!
Nov 14, 09, 8:41 am
Update: Just got off the phone with WR. This time I got a much nicer CSR - nicer, but nonetheless ignorant to the whole 50% US Summer Blockbuster bonus.
I have now spoken with 3 WR CSRs and they all have the same basic response to my inquiry. All of them, at first, claim to have no control or access to anything US airways promised. This response, of course, required me to repeat YET again that I am talking about a promotion that WR offered on the WR web site that WR was dangling in front of me that WR made impossible to achieved.
Their responses were consistent if not acceptable to me. They have nothing in their records of offering 15,000 US miles for 3 stays at WR hotels.
So I repeat again: YOU..... Wyndham Rewards..... NEVER offered 15,000 miles. You offered 10K miles and promoted on your web site that with US Airways you can get an additional 5K by signing up for the Summer Blockbuster promotion. "That means you could earn over 15,000 miles. You have to register for both promotions to get the Triple Stay bonus plus the 50% more miles from US Airways." (copied directly from the WR web site)
If I sound like a broken record to all that are following this thread, try being the record! The CSRs at WR can not get it through their heads that they offered something that was IMPOSSIBLE to get because WR did not bother to look at the T&C for the US promotion before touting it on the WR web site.
So I now have a fax number to send all my supporting documents. THANK GOODNESS I saved the advertising copy to my computer. No one at WR seems to be able to locate any place where they promised 15,000 miles.
If you want the fax number and contact name PM me and I will share. I also have the name and snail mail address of the WR Program Director.

The Knights Inn Abilene TX is the most disgusting hotel I've ever seen. Cockroaches everywhere, in the most dark and deserted part of town. As I mentioned in a previous post, this is the first time I've actually barricaded the door with a chair. Arrived late 11pm, slept with my clothes on and out of there by 6am.
I won't be staying at any WR hotels in the forseeable future.

I had spoke with Wyndham CS just to verify that I had qualified and that Wyndham had provided Delta with all the information for me to get my DL miles. The Wyndham rep was very good and managed my expectations by even doing the math for me (i.e. Delta has 6-8 weeks from end of promo so if I don't see my miles by X date to call Delta)
I called Delta today, first words out of her mouth, "the department that handles this is backed up" next statement after I asked her to call the department to verify anyways (I don't care if the dept is backed up, who isn't nowadays?) was: "the department says that you need to call Wyndham".
I state that I've already done this and the responsibility is with Delta to provide the miles now. Delta rep again puts me on hold to speak with their skymiles department, last statement I got was "we have sent communication to our Wyndham liason who will see if you qualify and if you do we will then issue the miles." I ask the question if a week is enough time for them to do this, she says yes.
So I'll call a week from today but my guess is there won't be any word and I'll have to go through the same steps. Delta sucks but I needed some miles in my Delta account.

Yeah, my normal hotel group is Choice but I couldn't pass up this promo. I thought "what's a few inconviences for 2 airline tickets". Was I surprised.:(
I mostly rotated between Super 8s and Days Inns and my third hotel was even a challenge to work in. I had couple of stays at Travelodges (one in Spearfish, SD. Not good but bearable), one in Lubbock, Tx. (scared the hell out of me. Talk about a depressing place to stay. I made sure I didn't come back to my room until I had to and got out before 5 am for a flight.) I stayed at Ramada Inn a few times and thought these were maybe the best quality of the bunch but still I expected more from them. I didn't brave a Knights Inn. All of these stays were "mattress hopping". On about 1/3 of these, I had to request a missing stay through the form on the website.
All in all, I'm glad I did the promo but I by no means became "more" of a fan of Wyndham properties. In fact, I now know the depth and breadth of the poor quality of Wyndham property. Something I think was the outcome that many people realized.
Also no sign of United miles as of Wednesday night.:td:

I just sent off another e-mail, as it's been 1 week and haven't heard boo about this situation. This behavior by Wyndham Rewards Customer-No-Service is unacceptable. I'm having to dog them for something that they screwed up on.
I had a missing AAdvantage Miles situation with Hilton Honors not posting miles for a stay in September 2009, and only it took 3 days from when they said they would investigate the matter to the proper crediting to occur on my AAdvantage account.
I will continue to fight Wyndham Rewards for them to make good on their offer until they give me what's due.

I stayed at Ramada Inn a few times and thought these were maybe the best quality of the bunch but still I expected more from them.
I found the Ramada brand to be the least consistent. I stayed one night at the Ramada in Pasadena on Colorado Blvd back in May of this year. SCARY. It was a motel that resembled a Knights Inn. I did some bed hopping that week at hotels in the HH group, Choice, WR, and Best Western. Delta was having a partner promo so I hit as many hotel groups as I possibly could.
Then I stayed at a Ramada in Denver (Northglen) in June for this 10K promo. It was a quite nice hotel (as opposed to a motel). I hung out at the hotel bar and watched the coverage of MJ's death. The bed, room, front desk staff, and bar staff were all quite nice. The location doesn't work well for where I need to be for business so I don't see myself choosing that location again... unless there is a hefty promo. But I would recommend that Ramada to others.
Then there is the Ramada at the Arizona Mills Mall in Tempe. It was neither scary nor great. It was a hotel not a motel.
Three Ramadas, three states, one F, one C, and one B+. I think any property can hang out the Ramada sign without having to meet any minimal requirements.
The most consistent member of the WR group, IMHO, is Wingate. This brand reminds me of the Fairfield Inn brand (but a little better), the Hampton Inn brand (but a little less), and the Holiday Inn Express brand (spot on!).

I'm seeing this all over FT (for example, also in the Avis 5k bonus thread). Seems that Delta is claiming "backup up due to FFP merged headaches" basically, and will tell you wait a good long time, because they don't want to deal with anything not related to merger stuff right now.
All sorts of bonuses for all sorts of partners are posting very late at Delta right now, and they are swamped with calls about that. (Of course, some good chunk of them, but certainly not all, are bonuses credited to Northwest but which now need to end up at Delta. Neither the Avis 5k bonus nor your 10k bonus fall in that category, but that is what is backing up Delta missing bonus research people.)

Not received where? They posted to Wynham's site a month or two ago for most of us. If they haven't shown up there yet, that's definitely Wyndham you need to contact.
If they have shown up there as sent to your airline, which airline is it? As you can see from these posts, it's been more or less posting to one airline at a time, and just because it's posted to one airline doesn't mean it's posted to aother airline yet.

I don't know how to prove to them at this point. I am 100% certain that I registered for the promotion because once I try to register next time, the system gave me an error message saying that i already did register for the promotion. Also I did 4 stays with Wyndham during this period. Is there any way to prove that I registered for this promotion?
This is the mail from Wyndham CS:
Thank you for contacting Wyndham Rewards(r).
The Triple Play promotion was valid for stays occurring between
05/14/2009 and 09/10/2009. Members who had elected to earn airline miles
or rail points with Air Canada, American, Continental, United, US
Airways, Spirit, Delta, Midwest, Northwest, Sun Country or Amtrak,
registered for the promotion and completed three qualifying stays at
three different hotel brands during the promotional timeframe would
receive 10,000 bonus miles. The stays must have been qualifying in order
to be eligible for this promotion.
I have reviewed your account and our records show that you were not
registered for this promotion. I regret to inform you that I cannot
register you now, where the promotion ended on 09/10/2009. Therefore,
we are unable to credit the bonus airline miles.
FYI, refer to post # 181, where I did posted on 11/07/09 in this thread expressing that I am still waiting on the miles to be posted to my account.

This is the mail from Wyndham CS:.
First, 4 stays is irrelevant, they had to be 3 stays at 3 different brands. If your stays were all in the same brand, or repeated the same brand such that no 3 consecutive stays of those 4 were at 3 different brands, you may be disqualified on that count.
Second, I would recommend you stop communicating by email at this point. Since you can't "prove" anything, your only hope is to "convince" with your story, and that can only work if you're talking to human who will acklowledge that they just heard your "you cannot register because you're already registered" error message and acklowedges that that means you were registered. If you tell this in an email, they will likley not read the whole email, and will just send you a reiteration of what they've already told you. To get things to change, you've got to get the attention of someone who can reconsider, or look into why the system now claims you never registered and yet you were getting messages saying you had.

I, too, talked (again!) with a CSR at WR and was told I hadn't registered.
They don't know it, of course, but for me not to register for a promo is like going out in the winter with no socks on ... just doesn't happen. I offered to check my back emails, but the supervisor told me they don't send emails confirming registration.
"So how would I know if I was registered?"
"You should call and verify it."
"Hmmm. Doesn't that negate the whole idea of on line processing?"
"[No answer]"
So, in a writ of felous gage, I composed a letter to Customer Service in Abderdeen. I explained to them:
1. Who I am (100-150 nights/year, pay my own tab. Should be their meat and potatoes)
2. Was told I hadn't registered though I know I had
3. Pointed out that at no time did my account ever show any stays or reservations - the current points/stays total in my account is 0/0 and has been since Day 1.
4. There were no notations in my account that I had ever called, even though I had definitely called at least twice on this specific promotion.
I concluded that they appear to have serious problems with their IT systems. The problems and confusion in fulfilling the terms of the promotion should be another piece of evidence of that. What really bothered me (I told them) was the fact that they tacitly admitted that their website couldn't be relied on to keep data.
Finally, I was making plans for the upcoming year, but that I would be very reluctant to include Wyndham properties because of the obvious problems.
I have no idea what will happen (I've already written off the miles), but if I don't get at least a polite acknowledgement of the letter I might as well just keep the pot stirring by sending copies off to various officers, etc. of the corporation. If they can inconvenience me, I sure as hell don't mind ringing their bells a little.

I would suggest finding snail mail addresses for the corp headquarters of the various brands that you frequented in 2009. From what I gathered when I called CS, WR is a third-party company that manages the loyalty program for the brands within said program. You threatening to change your travel plans for 2010 is not as big of a concern for them than it would be for the hotels themselves.
FTR, you nailed it. Their IT system sucks. I am still fighting with them over the US 50% bonus promo. Fax after fax and call after call. Every time I have to start over from the beginning. They are playing chicken with the wrong guy :p. I have tremendous staying power.
I really hope you never let up. I am really sick of loyalty programs that want to dangle the carrot to get my business and then never actually pony up the carrot.

Has anyone confirmed multiple airlines posting, or >10k posting to the same airline?
Well, finally got my second 10K - which was supposed to be to DL, but Wyndham posted them to US. Tired of going back and forth with them so at this point just going to leave it. I got my 20K I was owed, just not where I had wanted them to go.
I have same issue. They are now insisting 10000 bonus miles can be credited to one program.

I've had 40,000 post to Wyndham (after numerous calls, posted 20,000, 10,000 and then 10,000). I've had 20,000 & and then 10,000 post so far to my UA account (still waiting for the final 10,000 UA to post, Wyndham has assured me that they would).
I won't even begin to go into the conversations I've had with Wyndham. It's been a lot of work.
All the 40,000 UA Miles that I have earned have finally posted to my UA account. Whew

still nothing in my Wyndham or Delta accounts. Sent an email last week and got this back:
Thank you for contacting Wyndham Rewards(r).
Please accept my apology for the delayed reply to your email. We have been experiencing higher than expected email volume.
The "Triple Stay" promotion ended on 09/10/09. The department that handles posting bonus points are required to wait 8 weeks after the promotion's end date. They have added your name to the spreadsheet for missing bonus miles.
At this time, I can not give you a timeframe as to when the miles will appear in your miles account. Please accept my apologizes for any inconvenience that this may have caused.
I love the 8 weeks thing, considering the email was dated 12/9... almost 12 weeks after the promotion end date.
Called today to bug them and the very nice CS agent told me "oh, i see you already called about this, they put you on the spreadsheet". So far I know that the above email is in my account and that she can read. So i pressed further and all she said was I was on the spreadsheet along with everyone else that calls and they'll get to it. I asked how long and was told maybe another week or two, but i am 99.9% certain she just made that up.
Worst. Hotel. Program. Ever. bait you with free points to stay in their crummy hotels, then make you bug them just to get on the "list" of people that "might" get points.

On Friday, I received a phone call ...
ring, ring
ME: Hello?
VOICE ON TELEPHONE: May I speak to BigLar, please?
ME: [suspiciously] Who's calling?
VOT: This is Judi from Wyndham Rewards.
ME: Oh?
VOT: Mr. BigLar, we have received your letter, and we've reviewed your account. We will be sending a request over to AA for your 30,000 miles.
ME: OH? [Much happier inflection]
VOT: Anything else we can halp you with?
ME: No, that's quite enough. Merry Christmas.
VOT: You, too. Thank you for staying at Wyndham properties.

Still no sign of the 20K AA miles in my AA account. My WR account shows the credit, but they have not been posted by AA.
I called WR customer service this morning. The rep told me that they're "waiting for confirmation" from AA. I asked, "confirmation of what?" She said "confirmation that the miles have been posted" (?) and went on to say that "there's really no timetable for that. This has been a problem with all airlines with this promotion." Of course, we know that the problem here is with WR.
I'm sure I'll get them eventually, but I have no idea when. Guess I just have to keep on them.

I also had issue with getting my Triple Play 10,000 miles deposit. But in my case, I actually did void the T&C by chaning my earning perference and even remove my FF # from my profile. (Don't ask me why I was that stupid..) When I realized it (mid Oct), I added my FF # back and call WR CSR right away and prevented I do not know what happened and also express concerned about this 10,000 miles. The CSR that I spoke to told me it should be fine. Of course, I got no 10,000 miles after 8 weeks from the end of the promo. Hence I started submitted the missing points on the web site. And off course they found out what happened and use that as an excuse not giving me the 10,000 miles. But I just keep stick with my story of "I do not know what happened to my account." and finally got the 10,000 miles deposit in mid Dec. I also did rec'd a call from WR CSR just before X'mas confirming the issue had been resolved on their end.
Reason for my post is to let the people out there who are still waiting to keep pushing no matter what, especially if you are telling the truth (unlike me). I deal my all by email. With their delay in their respond (even the email state they will reply in 4-5 bus day), mine resond usually in 8-10 days, it is really in their own fault not services their member according to their promised. I think that might be when they decided to give-in. Also, keep your email in nice tone, as I do find you get a better chance for something to happened with a nice tone then play hardball with them.
WR is not my primary FF program and hence I really only had 3 stays during the period to get my 10,000 miles... in case this info help someone who is reading my post.

At last - my 20,000 AA miles posted today. After calling Wyndham in November and December, they told me on Dec. 9 that they had "sent the file to AA on Dec. 1". I figured it could take another several weeks to post. Now it's done, but it was a long wait since the mid-Sept. end of the promotion.

Mine too. Called wyndham after 2 months since I called them last time and this time the lady I spoke with was very nice and after checking my account she apologised that I was not registered for the promo. I was very polite too, I told if that's the case then I need to write to confirm that I registered. She talked with her boss and told me the good news- I will receive 10000 miles in 3-4 weeks. I am happy.

My 20K AA miles finally posted last week. The first 10K appeared with a post date of 9/30, the second 10K with 10/1.
A couple days later, I got a message on my home phone from a WR agent saying "American Airlines has manually posted the miles to your account."

I stayed 4X at 3 different WR hotel chains in Houston ... for those of you who know, WR in Houston is sort of a tour of the ghetto one star travel motels ... did it during the promotional period after having registered, etc... After four months of no miles being posted, I started calling/emailing ... was told multiple stories from different CSRs - but it all boiled down to , they had no F&^%^&%n clue about their own program ... finally e-wrote to CEO & COO at WR ... don't know if it helped or not but 1/2 the promo miles posted to my CO accout ... now I have to hassle them about the other 20K they owe me ... fun times

I made a call to WR in mid-December telling them I did not receive the 10K miles for my 3 stays. The CSR checked my account and told me that I would get them in 5 business days. Around the end of December, I found the 10K in my UA account. I thought that's the end of story, but when I logged in today, I found another 10K from WR in my UA account. Lucky me!

I suspect US will say that they can't control that WR waited until after their (US') cutoff date to post the miles. Just my prediction. US really wouldn't be in the wrong if you think about it. To me the beef will begin and end with WR. The promo from WR could have posted the miles within the time limit but WR chose to drag their a$$es.Well, US gets a big ^^^ today.

I have yet to receive my 90k miles from Wyndham to Delta. They keep giving me the run around saying they're submitting the 'excel' sheet and Delta isnt' confirming them. However, when I called Delta, they're telling they didn't receive anything excel sheet or point transfer attempts. I have been calling Wyndham at every other week and got the same thing.
Honestly, why would I stay at a chain when they can even get their act straight?

Uhhhhhhhhh... that would be..... ME! :D I take at least partial credit. I have a file folder full of correspondence and a log of a dozen or so phone calls. I have spoken to so many people at WR. I have faxed and re-faxed the same screen shots 3 times. I was told by several people the same excuses. Finally a registered letter to the head of the WR program. She finally understood what I have been arguing for over two months (see my previous posts). SO GLAD I took screen shots.

shame, as if you need any BMI miles, the current 5,000 BMI miles per stay is posting flawlessly to my account and the accounts of the two associates I turned on to this promotion. Thanks Wyndham !!!
to note for those interested in the promo, only 4 stays max for the promo, meaning max one can earn is 20,000 BMI miles, (actually 22,000 as each stay nets 500 BMI miles for the rate)

Potentially 24k - the crappy hotels earn 500 per night, but Ramada, for example, earns 1000.
