While welcoming a new A320, "Francesco Petrarca", that will fly mainly between FCO and LIN, AZ announced new seats for all the Airbus fleet.
The standard seat will be like those delivered with the new A320s.

They expect the delivery of another A320 in days and other 9 busses by December.

nice :)
any pic of the new seat?
I'm looking forward the day AZ will announce that B777 will be refitted with a lie-flat... or should we wait for the new A330s to join the fleet?

ciao maclover

Assuming that the planes and then the seats that AZ has been receiving are like the most recent AP Airbus, here you can find a couple of details.

Nice design, comfortable seats, no main CON, no main PRO. They've PTV.
They're good, but not very good, there's nothing really 'new'.

I found them some 3 times, PTV always inactive. Anyway, it doesn't seem to have some cool feature.

I remember that some seat rows have the underseat entertainment box, but I may be wrong.

I got these pics:

Sorry for the poor quality. :(

First airbus was an a320 in AP livery, the second in AZ livery.

Middle seats have the entertainment box, so they offer less room for legs.
Middle seats in the first rows have a table which is 'stored' in the backrest - for the business configuration.

In 2 pics you can see the personal screen switched on (first and only time I experienced that), showing the local map. The local map of Rome, while the plane was at LIN . Nothing was loaded, not even a safety demo.
Anyway, this system looks quite poor. It is not a touchscreen video, pax can only select channels, vol and brightness from the armrest, no usb ports or whatever, poor quality.
So, very basic features.

Seats are good, perhaps not that good for longer regional flights. They have non adjustable headrests. A good design helps to save room, anyway, since seats are thin.

Without even realising, I flew on board this plane last week! AZ109 on the AMS-FCO sector on the 30th of May, operated by a brand new AP A320 with this very interior!
