I've been matched MPC Silver last month... how long does it take for MPC to send the card and pack out? It's been nearly 2 weeks and I still haven't received anything

Mind you, I am based in Europe though...

I started from GR. When I became SL, it took me a month to get it. (I am in US.)

The fast one was when I became DM. It was DHLed to me in two days!

Same here. When I qualified for DM I was in Europe and the welcome pack was DHLed to me in two days as well (qualified Sun, received Tues). ^

I have been matched MPC Silver earlier this month (May) through a special offer through work (Qantas Club Bronze => MPC Silver) and I received my card and welcome pack about 7-10 days after application.

So I guess two weeks is about right. I would definitely follow up with CX if you haven't receive anything after a month.

CX, you really have lost it.

For someone based in HK, 2-3 weeks is about normal (based on recent experience last month).

Since you're based in Europe, add a couple days for the mail to reach you.

Were you already an MPC Green or Asiamiles member before? If so just log into your account using your existing PIN and you can check your status reflection immediately. All the stuff in the welcome pack is just eye candy and completely unnecessary in order to actually receive any benefits as look as your MPC number is on the booking record.

I don't think so. Qantas Club Bronze is similar to (but not exactly) QFF Silver. It is definitely higher than QFF Bronze.

The only difference between the two is that QFF Silver gets a 25% points bonus and enjoy oneworld status, other than that, the benefits are very similar. On the other hand, QFF Silver does not get access to Qantas Club or on departure upgrades (available within Qantas Club lounges) or priority lugguage while a Qantas Club Bronze will get all the above.

QFF Silver (http://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/program/privilegesSilver) compared to Qantas Club Bronze (http://www.qantas.com.au/info/flying/qantasClub/benefits)

As you can see, MPC Silver is similar to Qantas Club Bronze/ QFF Silver, so I would not be so quick to criticise CX.

The main difference between Qantas Club Bronze and QFF Silver is that the former is a paid status valid only on QF and the latter is an earned status carrying full OW recognition.

Surprising that CX would comp for a paid status. Then, anybody could pay for Qantas Club Bronze and then get MPC Silver for free, which is worth WAY more than Qantas Club Bronze.

When CX status matched me it took about 3-4 weeks for the MPC card to arrive at my European address. Might have been a bit quicker in Asia, I guess. The whole process was very smooth and turned me into somewhat of a Cathay loyalist.

True. I was surprised when they comped me MPC Silver for free. This is why I emphasised that this is only a special deal through my work.

I have to say I'm a bit bemused. I know 'business is business' but only a few months ago there were so many CX frequent flyers that Silver was by far the bottom of the pile. Now, I get a personalised letter from CX reminding me to qualify for my next level , Silver members are being addressed inflight by the ISM and they are handing out Silver memberships. The chagrin I have is why write to me about the importance of re-qualifying, using my own dime i might add, when they are giving memberships away?

Strange days indeed.
