Qantas Frequent Flyer - Why don't AA flights show in 'my bookings'?

I recently booked some flights on AA.COM and added by QF FF number. They have never appeared in my bookings. I called QF and they said that there's nothing they could do as AA use a different reservations system.

At least I can now add my QFF FF number when I reserve AA flights on-line. Last year you couldn't even do that! Anyone know if the points are going to materialise or will I have to follow-up the flights with QF? Appreciate anyone's comments or experiences regarding this.

I have, in the past, previously called the AA reservations centre and was transferred to somewhere in India I think. Despite him saying that he would add the number into the booking, that didn't result in my QF FF number appearing at all. In the end I got it added at the boarding gate by an AA trolley dolley.

So much for seamless travel with oneworld! Mind you, I reckon AA is probably the worst airline in the alliance.

Only bookings made in Amadeus will appear in "My bookings" . AA uses Sabre for its bookings and so will not appear as a booking in Qantas's system

There is no reason why they will not credit. Just make sure that your QF number appears on the boarding pass. If you have Silver/Gold/Platinum status then also check that it says RBY/SPH/EMB with your FF number

I doubt very much that you had it added by a "trolley dolley" and was there a need to be demeaning to the flight attendants or gate agents?

If you can find your AA bookings on aa.com and their system will allow you to enter your QF FF #, you should be fine. As long as your AA Boarding Pass shows your QF FF # (and status), you'll also be fine.

As for AA being the worst in the AAliance, I've certainly had some very good US domestic flights (in F ). Some may argue that IB and AA may be fighting for the "worst"award".

I thought MA was wildly acknowledged as being OneWorld's ....... step child.

Thanks for the replies.

Sorry Dave if you find the term 'trolley dolley' demeaning. I like the expression & find it amusing. I was trying to be funny, but in no way was it meant to be belittling.

However, I can assure you that my QF FF# was added by the flight attendant/stewardess. AA like QF, seem to have cabin staff assisting in manning boarding at the gate on domestic flights. She was really helpful, initially had problems putting it into the system but managed without much of a delay & was later serving the drinks etc., on board the packed 757.

I have a RTW booking in the system. Ticketed by AA.
The whole trip is listed in Sabre and is fully viewable when I log in to aa.com. When I log in to qantas.com (or ba.com), I can only see the QF and BA flights along with the AA and JL flights that connect to the QF/BA flights (ie, the flights that are entered in Amadeus).

If I had the trip ticketed by QF, I would be able to see the whole thing in Amadeus.

This is because Sabre will copy across adjoining over to Amadeus so QF and BA are aware of connections which may/may not affect them. The process also works in reverse so that a ticket booked with QF that includes QF/BA/IB/LA sectors et al will be pushed across to Sabre as "information only" sectors so AA are aware of what they will be getting.

Actually I always ticket on AA and I can see the booking on qantas.com. In fact, I am in the middle of a DONE4 at this very moment and I can see all upcoming AA flights on qantas.com.

Bookings made on aa.com with no Qantas/Amadeus segments will generally only show on Qantas.com if there is an Amadeus PNR relating to the booking.

This will happen if the booking was made though Qantas even if there are no Qantas flights. It will also happen if the booking was made using another GDS but has Qantas flights.

Up until AA began to allow entering of oneworld FF numbers you had to call AA and ask for your Qantas FF number to be inserted. The AAgents did not always do this correctly and I got into the habit of calling back and checking (asked the AAgent to read the number back to me). Since the online entry has been available my number generally gets inserted correctly. This includes status; about ¼ hour after inserting the QFF number into an AA booking I find I can select previously unavailable preferred/exit seating using AA.com.

Currently, I have 4 bookings showing on AA.com. In all cases all segments/QFF numbers show correctly on AA.com.

One is part of a LONE4 booked via AA. The Qantas/BA segments show on Qantas.com as described by Traveloguy.
Another booking I have is a QFF award booking for solely US domestic travel on AA flight number/metal. My QFF number is in the booking and I can select seats on AA.com. It shows on Qantas.com by not the selected seats. (Note I found the Sabre reference for this by looking the booking up on www.checkmytrip.com.)
The other two are booked on AA.com and have no Qantas flights. They do not show up on Qantas.com.

Past experience indicates I will get SC's and QFF points credited for these flight will little or no need to follow up.
