Central America - another question.. Tikal Day Trip
I decided to spend an extra 2 days in GUA in 2 weeks. I wanna go to Tikal for the day. GUA-FLR in the morning on TA, and back to GUA in the evening.
Any recommendations on tour guides/excursions?

that's really easy to book in GUA. Almost any travel agency will sell you the day trip tour: I did it a few years ago, booked it the day before for about $100 airfare, transfers, entrance fees, lunch and guided tour included...
the $100 price was nowhere to be found.. lol
I ended up booking through Clark Tours in Guatemala City. Total was $345 including taxes. Airfare was on TAG, which was at least convenient in that they fly out of a hangar in the General Aviation side of GUA.

Yesterday, I was quoted $299 + 12% tax originating in Antigua, flying out of GUA at 0620 on Aviateca to Flores. Xfr to Tikal, lunch, 4 hours with bilingual guide and return. Quoted by English speaking staff member.

quote was over the telephone. Two day
advance booking required.
After going to TAG website, it actually may be with them.

TAG wasn't bad... the plane was a bit old, but it got me there and back (early, in the case of back). Seating arrangement is 1+2, and there is drink service... water or apple juice ;). Remember, they don't fly out of the main terminal, but rather a hangar in the General Aviation area, and you'll have to pay $40-45 in taxes when you arrive.
I booked with Clark Tours in Guatemala City, literally the day before departure, paid $300ish in cash to them, and paid the $40-45 to TAG at their hangar.
Here are a few pics from the travel... if you want, I'll PM you the facebook link to my tikal photos.
