Ive finally realized that I need to buy and use at least one or perhaps two software programs to tweak my photos.... is there any literature that the board elders suggest...??
I've always favored Scott Kelby's books on Lightroom, Photoshop, etc. They are structured around "how do I do x", and the x's are photography-specific, rather than feature by feature listings. His writing style is very interesting/entertaining to most, though a small subset find him to be annoying/distracting.
Martin Evening is the other author I've heard mentioned repeatedly.
Take a look at the sticky at the top of the forum - there are a few other options there - the Radiant Vista "Five Essential Steps" is a good start to get a flavor for post processing, though it's for a slightly older version of Photoshop. The concepts still apply to CS4, Lightroom, Elements, PSP, etc.
