Couldn't think of anywhere else to post this question, so let's see if it gets a response here....

Flying ATL to NYC Friday evening (either LGA or EWR, whichever is cheaper). Is there anything to choose between Airtran and Delta, on this route or generally ? I have no status/miles with either airline (or Skyteam), no checked baggage and no idea about terminals, etc ;)

Do I just go by price or this there anything else to consider ?

Without status to consider, just choose on price. Service onboard is more or less the same on a short route like this. AirTran has XM satellite radio onboard, if that means anything to you.

We have done both airlines and I would have to pick Delta. I think the airline is more professionally run, all things (fare) being equal.

Also AA provides service to LGA from ATL.

I believe you can standby free on AA .

OP here again. Trip got cancelled last week, but will be going in July. I don't see any service on AA from ATL-LGA on the timetable.... is it seasonal or something ? Would be good as I have 1W status.

American Eagle used to have non stop service between ATL and LGA

Last month, American added new service or additional flights from New York to Atlanta and Raleigh/Durham, N.C., while its regional affiliate, American Eagle, began nonstop service to Cincinnati. (2007 news)

It checked the schedule. it looks like AA cut the service..

I've flown AirTran on a couple of occasions from RDU to ATL, and it was perfectly adequate. ATL to LGA, I would go AA, only because I'm addicted to their flavor of mileage crAAck.
