Mexico - SJD Los Cabos Airport: Where to Wait?

Flying in on Alaska about 2 hours earlier than 2 other friends arriving via United. I've done some reserach (here and the official SJD airport).

Sounds like it's best to go thru customs, by-pass the timeshare people.. walk to Terminal 1 and try and find the cafeteria and/or bar to wait.

Am I correct? I've got about 2 hours to wait for them and I wanted to figure out the most "comfortable" area to do so.

I assume that I can get to the shops and cafeteria in Terminal 1 without having to go thru security since I've just arrived?

Any help in this area is GREATLY appreciated.

Airport is so small (both terminals) that I would recomend you go to T1 and get something at the Burger King while waiting for your friends. Waiting for them before customs and immigration is worthless, as there is usually no place to sitdown and it is possible that security will rush you to get out.

IMO this is the absolute worst airport in the world, and I've been to some bad ones. My recommendation would be to depart immediately for your destination, checkin (if possible) and relax by the pool with a margarita or cerveza.

There are just no good options at SJD either before or after security though I guess there is a tiny bar in T1 if you absolutely positively must wait.

Arrival and Departure at SJD is the single worst part of vacationing in Cabo.
