It's been over thirty (yes 30!) years since I travelled around Turkey by bus. And I am very much looking forward to going again in a few weeks. Am arriving in Marmaris (via a cheap flight to Rhodes and then a ferry) but need to get to Kas on the Mediterranean coast that same day.
When I was last in Turkey, it was no trouble at all to go to the otogar (bus station) and just look for/ask for buses to your desired destination but that was in the day when I didn't care so so much about the efficiency of travel schedules. I would prefer to know in advance if I can get from Marmaris to Kas on the same day (and approximate time) of my arrival there.
Anyone know how to get somewhat reliable bus schedules and fares from Marmaris east (preferably online)? Thanks!

You might try your post here, where more experts hang out...

What I did find was the number for Marmaris otogar:

(0252) 412 30 37

(from the US, 011-90-252-412-3037; from Skype, +90 252 412 3037).

Whether by phone or in person, you'll want to say something like (with the caveat that my grammar might not be 100% perfect) "Kas'a gitmek istiyorum. DAY'de MONTH gitmek ihtiyacım var. Ne zaman otobus kalkıyor?" (I want to go to Kas, and on xx day/month I need to go. What time do the buses leave?")

Thanks so much for your assistance. And I am chok impressed with your Turkce! I finally decided to rent a car. The schedules just didn't work for us. Found a company with much cheaper rates than the "big guys." Hope I'm not disappointed!
