Hi everyone!
I'm looking to fly to Vancouver for a wedding on the 21st of August and return on the 26th but all my searches so far are coming up pretty expensive (£800/$1700+) and are rising by the day. I'm not too savvy on looking for flights, so i wondered if anybody on here knew of any god routes that would make the flight cheaper, or of any airlines/packages/deals that might make this flight cheaper as it's two of my best friends and i am going to be master of ceremonies so i have to go no matter what. Only thing i have to do is be back early-ish on the 26th as i have to go straight back to work...boo!
Thanks for taking the time and i would appreciate any advice!
ps. sorry if this crops up twice, i wasn't sure where to post it.

I'm assuming you are thinking of Vancouver, BC? There also is one in the state of Washington, and may be others?
Anyway, I'm not sure what you searched, but www.kayak.com shows a United at $1092 (goes to $1102 with some fees) for LHR to YVR. To get more serious about checking, also try the web sites of the airlines themselves, plus a few like www.orbitz.com, www.priceline.com, www.expedia.com.
Also, the ratio of the $ to British Pound is more like 1.5 to 1 right now. You've got it at over 2 to 1 in your example?
To the extent you can, try different dates also. Sometimes that can make an amazing difference.
You might consider bidding via Priceline. You might get lucky there. www.priceline.com(lots of instructions there) and www.betterbidding.com(for a little more advice). Sometimes people get lucky with the bid process.
Hope you find something workable.

expedia.ca has a united flight for $1326CAN...
another route may be to take unted to seattle for 987can and then air can or a bus to vancouver. aircans flight to is 275can for a total of 1261$can...
or
you can take the same united flight to seattle and then take this busline from seatac airport to downtown vancouver http://www.quickcoach.com/index.htm that would cost you 987can plus 90can for the bus...
$1077 canadian!!!...a little under 950$us
you are better off flying to seattle and then taking a bus over to vancouver...most bust lines in that area seem to cater to people who want to get to vancouver from seatac airport...i guess they want so save money by flying the less costly routes to the us and then taking a cheap short busride over to canada...
aim for seattle with cheap ground transpo to vancouver http://www.quickcoach.com/index.htm

dean,
just found this thread.. i'm actually looking for flights going the opposite way for a wedding this summer in london. I posted about an hour ago looking for help finding the best websites to search.. since then i've been doing a little digging myself, and the best 2 sites i've found are www.kayak.com and www.flightnetwork.com. Flight Network has the cheapest ticket I've found at $1185 CAD return.
