Let me guess....May 12th or the 13th? The Jewish Holiday of Lag Baomer is probably the busiest time of the year for them (only minutes from Meron) and they will do anything possible to bring in as much revenue as possible during these dates....

Good luck trying to deal with Israeli SPG Hotels! There are many of us on FT who have serious issues with them on a regular basis and pretty much never get any closure on them...

I have recently redeemed at the Sheraton Tiberias - got 16 room nights in April for 3-4K each as Category 2. I found them one of the best Israeli Sheratons in terms of redemption availability and giving SPG benefits.
Maybe only more expensive rooms are available when you re looking?

I just got off the phone with Platinum Concierge. Apparently, the rooms that are showing for those dates are priced at Rack Rates and although they may be standard rooms they are not bookable with points.

Maybe Lurker can help us out with this one.....

An SPG issue with a property in Israel? I never thought I'd see the day!

Dearest all,

Ok. Let me try.

Updated: it seems that the standard room type of this period for that period isn't available as well. That might be a possible explanation.

I had a similar problem with the Le Meridien Dead Sea a couple of weeks back. The date I wanted was showing no awards availability. I had to have the platinum concierge book a room for a different date that was available and then swap that reservation into the date I wanted. Took 5-10 minutes.

I am unaware if the non-platinum help desk can do the same, but worth the try.

Btw, stayed at Tiberius last week as well. 1 Night, 2 rooms booked on points. They upgraded 1 room to a suite and gave us the connecting regular room. Upon arrival both rooms had water, wine, and chocolate chip cookies. Good use of points. Only negative was that plat amenity did not post automatically even though points for the stay (meals) did.
