Hi Folks,
Here's a link (http://boardingarea.com/blogs/onemileatatime/2008/07/31/trip-report-holiday-inn-macau/) to a post I made about my stay at the Holiday Inn Macau last summer. While they did a great job of recognizing Platinum benefits, the hotel wasn't all that great. Nonetheless I'd return for the points if I return to Macau.

Just stayed there on May 22 & 23 on Point Break. The hotel is walking distance to Grand Lisboa, Wynn and MGM. 24 hours SuperMarket across from the hotel. 10 minutes walk to New Yoahan which has great a food court on 9th floor.
I am a Platinum and I didn't received an upgrade. Stayed in room 1808. I felt the room was old and tired and in needed of renovations,
I would not stay there again.

Stayed there on May 25-27th on a PB.
Got the newly renovated room on the 26th floor (2610)...very similar to the CP Changi room except its a bit smaller.
I also stayed there last time on a paid rate ( cheapest) and was upgraded to 1 BR suite.
I am Plat/Amb.

Stayed here for one night a few weeks ago on a Pointbreak. Absolutely zero Plat recognition, got a crappy unrenovated room straight from the seventies. Would've been quite unhappy if I had paid real money for this...
BTW, this thread should be merged here:

They are strict on policies. My experience is that there will be naught, zero reconition on award stays (in accordance with T&Cs), but excellent plat amenities on paid stays.

Actually, from my observation, the excellent benefits (suite upgrade, club & free breakfast) are given to RAs (as strange as that sounds!) -- when staying on a RA account, the folio reads ROYAL AMBASSADOR, and the great benefits apply, but on our stays from Plat accounts, we received the 70s room and a fruit plate.

To clarify, I would've been unhappy if I had paid 1000 MOP and gotten that Neolithic room, but for a pointbreak I wasn't about to complain. I have, however, occasionally gotten Plat benefits on award stays at other properties.
