Hi Folks,
Here's a link (http://boardingarea.com/blogs/onemileatatime/2008/08/01/trip-report-intercontinental-bali/) to a blog post I made about my stay at the InterContinental Bali last year. I booked a club room and received a Club Jimbaran Suite as a Royal Ambassador. I think the report speaks for itself, but this property is fantastic, and well worth the money.

Hi lucky9876coins,
Thank you very much for your report.
I showed your blog to my wife who has been asking me to take her to Bali. She was so impressed and finaly gave me an ORDER to take her there.
I am RA at the moment but I will lose RA status soon. Before that. I hope we could make wonderful memories as yours.

Mrs Havepointswilltravel gave me that ORDER too. We will make a brief visit to Bali after one week in SYD (if Mrs H can take time off from shopping). Unfortunately we will be going as ordinary Plat Amb. RA expires July 31.

Hi there!
Just booked a Club Room for 25th DEC to 5th JAN.
However, I found out then that it will be rainy season then over there.
Anybody got any experience on that?
What is their rainy season like?
Don't wanna go there if chances are high that it will rain for 10 days. A rainy day or one short tropical rain per day is acceptable, but anything more is not so nice...
BTW after booking I sent the hotel a message and asked about some general stuff and they already informed me that they put us from Club Room into Duplex Suite because of RA status... very nice!

We had a great stay at IC Bali in late June. We had booked a Club room at a F&F-rate and as an Ambassador were upgraded to a Club Duplex Suite.
Suite was very comfortable and service excellent. We also enjoyed the club lounge, it had a nice and calm atmosphere and the offerings were really good. Can't wait to return! ^

Ben - I've stayed at the IC Bali often including over the Xmas / NY period a few times in years past and while the storms can be pretty heavy, they are usually consistent in that they don't last long - 1 hour late afternoon usually. Its not monsoon per se though it is the monsoon season in the region to the north of Bali off of Borneo in the S. China Sea.
If you've not been to the IC Bali before then you will love it no matter if it snows and the upgrade you've already been confirmed with should make it that much sweeter.
It is a great great property and staff are the most attentive anywhere.
Hope you stick to your plans and enjoy - trip report please!

Stayed at your exact dates a couple of years ago and it rained a majority of the time. Entire days. It wasn't pleasant. We did enjoy the club quite a bit though...

Guys,
thanks for your advice. I spoke directly to the staff and we came to the conclusion (with them) to postpone our trip to Easter season, as it would be much nicer then.
Anyhow, for X-Mas and New Year I have now booked us into the Goa Ressort.

I think you are making a right decision. I stayed there last year during Christmas 2007 (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/8954572-post38.html)for 7 nights 6 days and it had been rainning almost like non-stop for 5 days. We only saw the sun on the first day. Flooding was everywhere.

I stayed at the IC Bali again a couple of weeks ago, and had another fantastic stay. A trip report with pictures can be found here (http://boardingarea.com/blogs/onemileatatime/2010/03/28/asia-on-a-whim-the-intercontinental-bali/).

We had to cancel our Easter trip this year due to some business trips, however, IC Bali is still on top of our list.
What's the best time to go there? I heard of the rainy season....

Type xxx average weather, and you will get a feel of best time to visit a place. For example, Bali average weather, Kuala Lumpur average weather, etc

Thanks for the reviews lucky9876coins. Celebrated my 50th bday last week & definitely had my best vacation (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/17216033-post140.html) (albeit too short).
Can't wait till the next time !:-:
