Stayed there this week on a last-minute trip to Berlin. Paid only 44€ for a 1 Queen room with sofa-bed and received exactly that. Standard interior that all "older" HIX in Germany have, all rooms seem to be of the same size, bathroom also as with all other HIX I have stayed at (including wall-mounted dispensers for Shampoo and Soap). All in all everything you expect from a HIX room. One word of warning in regard to internet: It's available at the hotel, but there's no sign it will be a charge (10 Euro per day) for it. As soon as you connect your PC you get charged - no confirmation page or such, and no hint anywhere about the charge (which is why I successfully got it removed).
Little annoying was that there is a building site right behind the hotel (not advertised on the ICHotels website), and loud work-related noises started right at 7am straight - do not intend to sleep in when you stay there. Also breakfast was less than the new-generation HIX with no hot items, and many things depleted and not restocked properly. Also no hot chocolate for breakfast - something other HIX in Germany have.
Finally attitude of staff when dealing with problems (Internet charge, noise) was strange to say the least - for my complaint in regard to the construction noise I got "What do you expect in a big city - it's always noisy here" as an answer, not even an apology...
Greetings - Dirk
