According to your valued feedback from the master thread discussion about the changes in the IHG forum, the moderators of the IHG forum decided to create a subforum for stay reports only.
What belongs in this subforum
The focus of this forum is on stay reports, not on discussions about the hotels. For example, question about how to reach a hotel. their room categories, general question should remain in the main respective threads in the general forum, while management issues, treatment of elites during your stay or short specific stay problems should be posted in this subforum.
Our suggestion is, that you post your reports about stays in all the Priority Club properties (IC, CP, HI, HIX, etc… ) in this forum, not only about InterContintenal Hotels.
You can also add photos to your report (read below how to add photos.)
This subforum should not replace the reports in the Flyertalk trip report forum (www.flyertalk.com/forum/trip-reports-177). Reports describing a general trip that also happens to include a description of a stay at a Priority Club hotel should be posted trip report forum. However, if we find a valued report in the trip report section we will approach the poster and ask if she or he will post the report also in this Priority Club subforum or link it there.
One thread or many threads about the same hotel
Not everybody is staying in the same room category, so many threads about the same hotel are okay. Using the search function (read below), you should find the all threads about a specific hotel
How to name a thread
Search might be an issue, since the chain has more than 4000 hotels all over the world. Therefore it might be useful to name the thread in a ceratin way, so that it could be found easily using the search function. Since search is not always working properly, we tried to make it as eays as possible.
If you use the "advanced search" function right in this subforum (Search this forum (www.flyertalk.com/forum/search.php?f=657)) it shoud limit the seach on this subforum. Here you can limit the seach further on the thread titles. In the left corner below the "search by keyword(s)" is a dropdown box where you can select "Search Titels only".
Using a specific abbreviation (we suggest something like the following)
IC for InterContinental,
CP for Crowne Plaza
HI for Holiday Inn
HIX for Express by Holiday Inn / Holiday Inn Express
CS for Candlewood Suites
IN for Indigo
SBS for Staybridge Suites
and the name of the hotel should do best. The city should also be included in the thead, if it's not part of the hotel name.
E.g.
HI Frankfurt Airport North
IC Chicago O'Hare
With this information it should be (if the search is working :) ) easier to find a specific hotel by searching for the thread titles only. You could also add specific comments, like what your reports coveres.
How to embed picture in your report
This forum allows to embed pictures in your reports.
If you do not see any pictures, you should look in "My Flyertalk" and there click on "Edit Options". In the thirs part "Thread Display Options" is right at the top a checkbox with three options. The last of this three reads "Show Images" should be activated.
You could not upload the pictures in the forum, you have to link them. This seems to be a bit complicated first, but is quite easy once you have discovered how to do so. Over in the "Travel Photgraphy Forum (www.flyertalk.com/forum/travel-photography-629)" is a thread created by the moderator sbm12 about how to do so.

You have to limit the number of pictures to 10 in a single post due to capacity limitations. As a sidenote, a smiley equals one picture.
