Hi all,

I redeemed all my 90000 TYP (20000 fly points + 70000 purchase points) before the fix point redemption expire, and now I plan to book a 10000 miles trip with my PPE card.
So, can that 70000 (or remaining 50000) redeemed purchase point still be used to match my next 10000 fly points???

If I convert my PPE to PP, am I going to lose all those redeemed purchase point that could potentially match my future fly points???

Also, has anyone ever get their PPE card annual fee waived successfully???
I called the CSR, but the answer is NO unless I am their gold member or something like that.

Thanks

Yes. Just tell them the card doesn't have value for you any more because of the removal of the fixed-point option. In addition to getting the fee waived, this should result in some nice perks for you.

I have tried many times in last few months and failed although they did give me some other bonus offers.

Yes, I've gotten the fee waived on two cards this year and I advised a friend who pulled off the same.

Thanks for all the replies...

One more question:

When I tell the CSR I want to close my account, would they close it right away, or I would always be transferred to the retention department first???

I really like to get my annual fee waived, but I don't want to lose the potential 50000 pts...

No. They always make you an offer, then you decide whether or not to accept. In the past, negotiation was fairly common, but recently I haven't seen much budging from the initial offer.

It is not 100% sure they would negotiate or make offers to you - it seems the offers are attached to the accounts - not all accounts get the same offers, and the CSRs can only go by what the screen shows to him what offers he can give out.

And yes, while they generally would make you an offer, there is also the risk of they just close your account right there without even bothering to transfer you to retention.

However, if your account is closed, you could immediately have it re-open and all the pts should be reinstated.
