Hi all,

I would likely to try get on the ramp tour to seeing newest A380 coming into JFK around on May 15 in between 2 or 3pm. So someone will have escorted me into the aircraft to see brand newest interiors looks like inside of A380. So what about we can get inside of the concourse where I can see lot of the aircraft coming into JFK. So I knows JFK security are very stricter, am I correct? So how exactly I need to get permissable from my old manager who work for JFK in DL terminals and what about I need to get access badge for me. So how exactly I can setting better pictures with my Nikon D80 camera. So which one is ISO or which zoom that I need to get best photo shots for me. So if you have any more questions for my concerns about ramp tour and to get access into brand new terminal 5, too. Thanks for your kindness for my concerns.

Regards

Good morning N830MH.

Sorry I can't help you with access at JFK but I can give you some advice on taking photos.

I would use as low ISO as possible for fast paced shots of flying aircraft.
However, ISO is very dependant on light so if it is a sunny day you can probably use an ISO of 100. Do keep an eye on the shutter too. For fast paced photos you want as quick shutter time as possible.

If your ISO is too low, the shutter will compensate by being open longer to get enough light on the exposure.

Just buy a refundable ticket for whichever terminal you want to visit. I think that the views from T5 are best, followed by T2/3. T4 is OK but you never know which side your airline will be on and the carriers are mostly international so that makes the refundable tix harder.

JetBlue has a great view from the end of their center pier for taking photos and watching operations at the intersection of 31R and 22R/4L. Lots of great shots from there, IME.
