A complicated question.(backtraking)(Alliances)

Subject:
Back-Trak Question
I have an interesting route here
involving questionable back-traking
involving PTY,MVD and EZE. In South America.

.HKG to AMS(KLM)
.AMS to PTY(KLM)
(stay in PTY for a month)
.PTY to EZE for a month(Copa)
.Now...MVD to PTY for a month(Copa)
.PTY to MVD for a month(Copa)
---
2010
.EZE to PTY stay for a week.(Copa)
.PTY to IAH to LAS for a month(CO)
.LAS to YYZ(CO)
.YYZ to EWR to HKG(CO)
---
This leads to another question.
What about Copa in 2010?
If a person books a Skyteam RTW ticket in 2009
and Copa follows CO to the Star Alliance,
Whats happens in 2010?
....will they allow going back/forth between PTY and
EZE/MVD??

Reward or revenue?

You've got three stops in one city (PTY) which I am 99% certain is not allowed in either case.

I also count 7 stops on the itinerary which is too many for a reward.

Paid or award RTW ticket?

On a paid ticket backtracking is allowed, but there are milage restrictions.

On an award ticket, I don't think backtracking is allowed, but I've never done an RTW award ticket.

WRT CO leaving ST, I'm not sure, but if it is ticketed, then most probably it will be honored by CO (or Copa) even after they leave Skyteam.

First of all you cannot go to EZE twice only once, on a paid rtw you can backtrack between PTY EZE and MVD so could do:

HKG-AMS-PTY-EZE-PTY-MVD-PTY-LAS-YYZ-EWR-HKG

But maybe if you gonna travel this much within South America it might be cheaper just to buy seperate tickets or just an airpass for south America.

Thanks all for the kind replies
I forgot to add that it is a paid
ticket.
Maybe I'd be better off buying route for route tickets.

You should be able to just buy the MVD-PTY-MVD ticket outside the RTW that you described and I think that the routing would be fine. Basically you'd have a 3 month stop in EZE and deal with the other bits outside and the routing should be valid at that point, I think.
