I am trying to book a SFO-PEK with a stopover (preferably on the return) in ICN. Rough dates are 9 Aug outbound, 19 Aug to ICN and 24 Aug to SFO. (I could swap SFO for LAS too)
The KE site does not seem to be able to book such itineraries. How is the best way to arrange this? I am looking for NW or DL miles.

Have you tried expedia or Orbitz using multicity?
Economy or Business class? In my experience, it is very difficult online to get KE economy to book into the fare classes that DL will give miles for. No experience trying to get NW miles, so I don't know if NW allows lower fare classes on KE to accrue miles.
Only caveat is if you book the DL codeshare flight. But with that, I think you can not get a stopover as any DL codeshares beyond ICN (like your ICN-PEK-ICN) only show up as DL flight numbers if connecting.

Just call delta travel line and ask for the Korean Air or Singapore Air Desk and they should be able to help you.
I just booked business from SDF-DFW-ICN-CAN and back with a 24hour stopover in Korea each way.
120k miles and $45 what a great deal

Expedia lists a fare SFO-PVG/PEK-ICN-SFO for about $1500, but won't tell me the class. Delta gives no credit for X and V but NW does. They both block out G B Q N A D U.
