I'm trying to find the cheapest possible way to travel oneway from TLV to LAX in mid/late-July. Of course transatlantic oneways from TLV are more than roundtrips, so I will probably need to get a low-cost flight to somewhere in Europe and then a separate ticket onwards. Does anybody have suggestions for good low-cost options out of TLV?

The best I have been able to manage is the following:
- July 16, TLV-MAN on Jet2, £95
- Spend the night with friends in Manchester
- July 17, MAN-DUB on Ryanair, £30 with fees
- Two hours to transfer in DUB (have managed this in 40 min when Ryanair was late in the past)
- DUB-EWR on Continental, $323
- 4h15m to schlep across New York, NJT62 bus-PATH-E train-Q33 bus, $7
- LGA-DEN-LAX on Frontier, $140
Total cost $654. What could possibly go wrong? ;)

Anyway, it seemed worth asking this forum if anybody knows any deals that might help, or has suggestions as to how I might do this more cheaply, or slightly more expensively with a lot less stress/risk/Ryanair. Thanks.

Yo ucan try air berlin. They sell one ways ticket at half the price of a return and it is kind of a no frills airline flying out of germany.

I'd take the train+ferry from Manchester to Dublin....the times are a bit inconvenient (you might have to leave your friends after last call :)) but for 29 quid, you can get some sleep and avoid worrying about missing your connection to Newark.

Similarly and even better is National Express' promo fares of GBP 35 a/i from Manchester to Dublin Airport...the coach [long-distance bus]) goes directly onto the ferry

Also I'd consider splurging on the NJT train from EWR to NYP rather than deal with the hassle of the NJT bus and PATH. You could easily save an hour doing this (although that hour could be spent enjoying lunch in the awesome Portuguese/Brazilian Ironbound section of Newark just south of Newark Penn, where the PATH departs from)
