multiple dates up until mid-June. I just booked two different dates.

Getting to and from the airport in BKK will possibly cost more than the flight from Italy.

"Con blu-express.com tutte le tariffe sono flessibili.
Anche se acquisti la tariffa più scontata puoi modificare il biglietto. "
(Second line says "Even if you purchase a discounted fare, you can change the ticket.")
Does this imply that I could buy a Euro19 ticket in June, and then change the dates till next year, when I want the ticket?
Has anyone flown Blu Express?

probably means you can change your ticket and pay the fare difference.

The BV website (English version) says that they have 220 seats available at this price --99 euro-- in May. Although the actual booking was a fare of three euro, a credit card fee of four euro, and about 20 euro in taxes. I purchased one of those 220 for May 12th. departure. $35 US for a possible major segment of a round the world flight is very inexpensive. I can afford to lose the money if I can't make it work out.
BV looks like a European public charter carrier that flies to Bangkok one time a week from Fiomincino Terminal C. Could be that bookings in May were really weak, and that they listed the outbound at 3 euro instead of, say, 30 euro, by mistake.
Now if I could only change or rebook my mistake fare in Business Class from Kuala Luampur from next March 2010, to this May, I could make a very nice round the world flight.
A question: the English language website seems to indicate that you can change the names of the passengers without fee for the booked flight. Can anyone confirm this? Even if I don't use the trip, I could give it away or trade it away on Coupon Connection if you can make free name changes.

Well, it looks like the Kuala Lumpur fares are still available (although it looks like the segments from Kuala Lumpur to Seoul are now only in coach) and I booked one to co-incide and provide my arrival and stay in Southeast Asia.
So now the question is no longer: How to get to Kuala Luampur cheaply? The question is: How to get to Rome cheaply in May?;)
This is a lot of flying --around the world in 14 days-- but it helps that the Transpacific segment will be in business class.

I booked FCO-BKK in June for 23euro ai. Blue Panorama uses their 767-300ER jets for these long-haul flights. The way I see it, I won't be upset if I can't make the positioning flights to FCO/from KUL work.
BD offers great one-way awards, and thats what I'll use to get myself to FCO.
From BKK, the cheapest fares to the US are no longer... but luckily there is Air Asia and on my day of travel its $52 one-way from BKK-KUL including one checked bag and a hot meal. If you're not checking a bag and you don't want a meal, the price is even cheaper.
From KUL, there is a delightful business fare back to North America. However, there must be a way to find an even cheaper Y fare! Or at least I'm hoping so...
Great post, OP!

Cheapest from KUL to NY is 730ish on DL with 2 layovers(one which is in taipei for 21hrs if you want). Any cheap positioning from BKK or KUL to ny?

I would have to agree. i know some people are trying to do RTW on budget carriers and this would be a huge deal. If you try to hook up different airlines/tix you can probably do RTW for about 1k which is a pretty sweet.

Does anyone think its possible to get an AA fare in half? HKG-JFK rt is $750, each way is $350ish. If we can do that then I see the following for ex-ny.
JFK-FCO ??
FCO-BKK $35(on this airline)
BKK-KUL $50-60 est.(air asia)
KUL-HKG $100 est.(air asia)
HKG-JFK $350++(CX/AA)<--if fare split is somehow do-able, I can dream atleast.

AH this is making me salivate. Can't use it unfortunately but what a great find!
If you need to make any cheap connections in the area you may want to look at these airlines:
Cheapie airlines that have some good specials in the region that fly from Bangkok to a no. of destinations.
Air Asia (hub KL and they fly cheap to UK)
http://www.airasia.com/site/au/en/home.jsp
flies to Perth (Australia) and Singapore from Bkk and Phuket.
tiger airways
http://www.tigerairways.com/th/en/
these are not comfortable but cheap.
and Australian cheapie jetstar. Flies from bkk to New Zealand, Oz, Singapore,
Ho Chih Minh and Jakarta.

Having left this on display in MR Deals for 30+hrs, it's time to move this budget travel (and one heck of a deal) fare to the Budget Travel forum (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/budget-travel-597/), where it rightly belongs.
Congrats to those who got in and please be aware that Mileage/status great deal fares belong in MR Deals (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mileage-run-deals-372/), while great deals (mistakes and freebie fares included) without mileage/status with an alliance belong in the Budget Travel forum (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/budget-travel-597/). :)

I like this approach! And I'm glad no graybeards showed up in this thread complaining that it doesn't earn miles, and shouldn't be in the MR forum. Face it, many of us check the MR forum hourly, but check the budget forum weekly. Posting there for 24 hours or so makes people aware of it.

Got on the flight no problem. Only thing to watch out for is the need for a ticket out of Thailand (either return or one-way). The airline asked me for it and wanted me to buy one from them. Showed them an (expired) confirmation from AA for onward reward travel. Bangkok immigration didn't say a word about it.
Airline was surprisingly pleasant. Above average Y seats and decent meals, plus free alcohol. Drank way more than my 3 euro fare!
