View Full Version : SAA call centres - hopeless!

I have a booking EZE-JNB-EZE for which I couldn't make a seat request at the time of bookings (says seating restricted, even though my booking class is not amongst the restricted ones). Anyway I decided to call the call centre to request the seats.

First try the Argentina number - no answer (even though during office hours) - tried over a few hours

Next the Johannesburg number - after 15 minutes on hold I gave up

Next tried the London number - it was picked up almost immediately and a very helpful lady helped me out - and managed to get the seats even though the system appeared to be refusing.

A bit disappointing with the other offices - I don't know how they expect to make any (non-internet) sales if you can't even reach them on the telephone!

That is very disappointing - I thought the local office at least was supposed have improved since the strike ended.

I had reason to call the South African (Voyager) call centre yesterday. Call was answered after two rings in the queue. Agent knew his business. Good experience. ^

Well, I still have an outstanding issue with them. If it is a repeat performance I will admit it is 'the touch' rather than pure luck and I'll accept 'commissions to phone Voyager' on your behalf ;).

Had to extend my trip 24 hrs last minute and called to change my return voyager issued (read freebie) C ticket on Monday. Call was answered within 3 minutes and I spoke to "lizbet" (I think it should be Elizabeth).

She changed ticket no problem, revalidated, and reseated on my chosen seat from original booking. Call took less than 5mins. I was impressed, this was via the regular 011978-1212 number, Monday was a holiday in SA so I couldnt use my black book of secret names and numbers which I normally use for Voyager things.;)
