Hilton HHonors - Higher than Diamond status coming?

I recently spoke with a Hilton executive and asked if a status higher than Diamond was coming.

I was told, "while I can't comment if / when its coming, I can say that our research points in the direction that it is beneficial."

I don't know what that means, but I guess I will begin to heighten my hopes?

Anyone else going to?

It's about damn time! I know for a fact (at least as of 2 years) that I was in the top .5% of all HH members. I would be happy to have an extra perk or 10 (-;

Elite Status Is Not A Matter of Life & Death...It Is Much More Important Than That!

Oh boy here we go yet again:rolleyes:

At least the OP got the inside info from an "executive" as opposed to the usual " a front desk CSR told me" and although he readily confesses he doesnt know what the comments really mean .. thats plenty enough reason to start a brand new superduper speculative thread here :D

Stay tuned for the "we are higher than Diamond and want to seperate ourselves from the rabble" group to jump feet first on the bandwagon:)

Hmmm.....I would love to see some kind of proof of that.

Are there some kinder ways to ask the question? Like "how does one get to find out such information?"

It is sad that some of our fellow FTers have abandoned the sense of cameraderie that makes FT special....

I had an informational interview with one of the executives because I wanted to ask him some career questions.

Please privately message me and I will give you details. Trust me - I will be writing an essay about this interview.

I just asked a question. Surely when someone makes a claim that they are of a higher status than the 99.5% of the rest of us, you surely would want to know how you can get that kind of info. Have you ever gotten something from Hilton that has your ranking on it in comparision to other hhonors members? I know I have not, nor have others I know that are members. Heck, I want to know where this person got this info so I can get mine. BTW If I say I had stayed in 99.5% of all Hilton properties, would you not be curious as too how that could be?

Given that the current "highest" status, Diamond, yields very little in the way of elite benefit, who cares?

Given that 1/2 the properties seem to get confused when faced with a Diamond member, I'd emphasise the question of who in the end really cares?

A new tier: you get the benefits without having to beg for them! :o

Doubtful, but I can't wait for all the Surpass holders to get it with 80K of spend. :D

At the moment they are going to lose diamonds with the economy. I have been treated better then ever recently. Was given the penthouse suite in mem a couple of weeks ago for my anniversary. Hotel went way out of their way for us.

No kidding--I would also love to know.

That was not the point I was making.

It's the style of language used that concerned me (plus the rolling eyes much like Simon Cowell when Susan Boyle presented herself on "his" stage).

Trust me - I will be writing an essay about this interview.

Look forward to reading what sounds like an amazing experience.

If you quote me, I expect it done right, not by you adding and subtracting words from my quotes.
I expect a retraction for this quote "Originally Posted by CNWO4LIFE

Apologies--you're right. That was my technical error, trying to add a second quote from another post. I have fixed the error.

As I was saying before--what happened to niceness and cameraderie at FT?

Travelexpert made a mistake - as is clear from the earlier messages in this thread.

I would like guaranteed 4pm checkout as per SPG but maybe this should be a Diamond privilege already...

As per the original 'writing an essay' comment from doclkk, I'm not sure that means there will be a change! But essays are good.

This would be a great perk to get now as a Diamond. I tried to get the checkout extended past 1pm last weekend in LA and they wanted to charge me for it. After I said I was Diamond they extended for free for an hour. How nice of them

TE I guess I am more upset with the treatment I have gotten from HHonors this last year in comparison to Starwood, that it just brings out the worst in me. I really the Hilton is a great product and it pisses me off to see them going down the way they are.
Do you think Hilton would offer 2 stays = a free night? Or double stays? No to both, while Starwood chugs along. Maybe Hilton will come to their senses soon.

Aren't we seeing this in an unofficial, unannounced way already in both HH and GP, with some getting re-upped for two years? It's a fact at GP, and I've seen enough to suggest it's more than a rumor here.

HH has seemingly been the worst for general promos the past few years. As opposed to targeted offers, which I rarely get because I give HH so much business.

HH were the pioneers of the current round of spring offers, which is 1,000 points per stay plus 5,000 points following each of five nights stayed.

But the other chains are superceding HH in richness of spring promo offers--I am sure there must be other posts about HH once again lagging the competitors.

As an aside--following the recent Marriott "enhancements" which devalued MR points significantly, I no longer give Marriott any of my revenue business. At least HH have not tampered with their award structure lately....

Good for you! I've never had a Hilton go way out of their way for me. I've heard of Penthouse or Presidential suite upgrades, but I've never seen one.

Not much, anyways. Neither really affect me much, but the AXON award has been devalued, and hotels are becoming Waldorf Astorias with higher than 40K per day/ 175K/ 6 day point rates.

I pretty much igonore the multiple new Waldorf Astorias. Almost all get average ratings at Tripadvisor.com.

In essence, Hilton needs to dramatically overaul its "luxury properties", which pale by comparison to JW Marriottts, Ritz, St. Regis, Luxury Collection etc.

Maybe Hilton should hire some Starwood execs who truly understand what luxury means, including those responsible for building the W chain!!!.....

I'm both Hilton Diamond and Starwood Platinum and have NEVER received any benefit from Hilton. I'm upgraded EVERY time I stay at a wood hotel, so I'm more concerned with my wood status than Hilton. I wind up keeping the Hilton just because there are more hotels and its easier to keep the number of stays up, but if forced to choose I'm going to keep the Platinum......

Do other hotels have an equivalent "4th" elite tier? What are the benefits in these uber-elite levels?

troyintn
Apr 27, 09, 7:26 pm
Do other hotels have an equivalent "4th" elite tier? What are the benefits in these uber-elite levels? I know Marriott does. They have Marriott Plat premier. As for the benefits the elite desk calls the hotel 72 hours prior to arrival to confirm your room and request an upgrade. They also earn a few more bonus points and you get a personnel rep more along the lines of SPG. The hotels do notice as some smaller ones have never seen a plat premier and go out of the way for you. The larger ones in major cities see a few a week and just put you first in line for upgrades etc. They also have a plat for life if you have over 1k nights which is separate from the 4'th tier.

I am in the same boat. But if they make me choose I will choose Starwood.
