Why does Enterprise not work with "partners". I was using Avis and getting .5 credit for rentals on SW, but had to switch to Enterprise and now nothing.
I think this sucks for the weekly traveler.

Enterprise isnt set up for the business traveller, that's why they bought National. No points, no frequent renter credits, yet they have cheaper rates (most of the time) than anyone else because of this. If your company switched ot Enterprise it's because they got some good cost savings.

You can get points through the Choice Privleges Program (http://www.choicehotels.com/ires/html/ChoicePrivileges) when you rent at Enterprise. These points can then be redeemed for airline miles.
The downside is, I haven't figured out a way to get Choice Points AND use a discount on the same rental. So depending on what/how you book your rentals, you may not be eligible for Choice Points.

Thanks for pointing this out fairviewroad. I've been maximizing points everywhere else, but was in despair when Enterprise wouldn't earn me airline miles...
During my ten months working there I would ask this question every time I sat down for a meeting with the higher-ups. The answer always was "we aren't that kind of company".

Years ago when I worked for them, I would ask the big-wigs the same question. I was always told "it costs money to provide those benefits; the other companies just past the cost along to the customer. We'd rather keep our rates lower."

I will be using Enterprise twice this month, not by choice. Just curious if the car size I've ordered is not available, will I be upsized or down sized?

It depends on what you consider an "upgrade". It's very possible you will get a minivan/SUV/pickup truck which they technically consider an upgrade. If you aren't satisfied just tell them upon return "I am not completley satisfied" and they'll negotiate something with you.
