Choice Privileges - No points

I stayed four nights at a Comfort Inn in Stevens Point WI. I negotiated a rate of $45/night for the four nights. The GM said she would not give me points for those four stays because of the rate. Now my rate is $60 and they will give points.

Should I call Choice directly to get credited for these stays or is this common on such low rates?

I suppose it depends on how it was coded as a rate. If it was coded N, negotiated, it is eligible.

I made a last-minute call to the Gold line last weekend and the agent hooked me up with a rate 1/3 of what the hotel was asking online. I was told no points, lo and behold when I checked my statement this week, I was credited with the points plus my 10% Gold Bonus. No complaints here!
