Looking at CHC-NAN on 30 June 2009: Smart saver economy is $419 and business saver fare is $469. Never seen this sort of difference before. Not only is the J fare only $50 more, but it is $50 more than the cheapest Y fare! Incredibly good value for money if you were looking to go on that date!

My parents who have never done a "sun" holiday are talking about Rarotonga in July. Apparently NZ gets cold then, living in Northern BC where we have -15to -40 for three months, I'm not sure they know what cold is!!
I see the sale dates on this fare are for travel in August.

Some very good TT J fares also if one is flexible with the dates

For the sake of thick ones among us, myself being especially thick, what is a TT fare?!

Some lucky traveller snagged two tickets DUD-LAX for $5100 all up :D
This is of course on the $1 reserve grab-a-seat international auctions held every Thursday on sella. Things must be pretty tight if that was the winning bid

Great fare - but you gotta be flexible enough to travel! And that probably counts a lot of 'auction watchers' out....
I keep an eye on it, but am frustrated that if I'm busy at 1030, I can't seem to find the final 'selling price' - am I missing something?
Cheers, TK

The trick is to leave a browser tab open on the specific auction destination that you are interested in and then reloading it when you get back to your computer. The closing bid amount comes up.

If you're a registered user on sella just add the auction to your 'watchlist'. Then you can come back any time and see the closing price.

Exactly. Specific dates with longer stays than I prefer means I've stopped checking the auctions as no good for me.

:D they want to appeal to more people to maximise the bids, not so many people are happy with a short notice 0/1/2 day trip.

I won the first AKL-LAX auction they had, which left a day later and was only for a weekend. That was awesome. Can't remember how much it was now, but it was a bloody good price ^ I want more of those!

Why does everyone hate Fiji recently?
Sure, there's a coup. But tourism is one of their biggest industries. They're not going to do anything to compromise that. Stay away from Suva and Fiji is as good as ever (well, with the exception of the odd flood in Nadi :D)
