Choice Privileges - Conversion from Choice to RR's account with different name- possible?

I am looking to transfer some choice hotel points in to RR credits, but would like to do this to top of some other family member accounts. Does the RR account name have to match up with Choice account name? I know that in some cases one can transfer from Amex to RR without the accounts having the same name by linking to different accounts.

The terms & conditions say you can only transfer to your own WN account. However, there's some discussion implying you can transfer to someone else. If you try it, please let us know what happens. Thanks!

"I've tried to do that with Choice but without success. Once you make a transfer to RR from Choice they keep a record of your RR account number and won't make a transfer to a different account number (at least that's what the representative told me). They also said that they check that the name on the RR account and the Choice account match."
