Korean Air Skypass - Horizon Air Connection

Hi a friend of mine is taking a KE flight from SEA to HKG this coming Saturday. His routing is from SEA to YVR using Horizon Air, and from YVR to HKG using KE through a connection at ICN. We have never done this before, but when he is checking in at SEA, does he check in with KE counter or AS/QX counter ?

Although KE has a direct flight from SEA to ICN that day, my friend is flying the convoluted route because of the D Class award tix. I think the KE counter is not yet opened when he checks in for the SEA to YVR flight. If he has to check in at the AS/QX counter, and QX prints his boarding pass, will the Prestige Class designation shows up on the boarding pass ? My friend is interested to access the BA lounge in SEA and the KE lounge at ICN, so I wonder if the QX boarding pass will get him access to those lounges ?

Also during the transit through YVR, does he need to get his new boarding pass at the KE counter or gate and re-check his luggage ? I don't think he needs to do that, but I am not sure since we never done this routing before.

Any input on this is appreciated.

Check-in at AS/QX counter at SEA airport.

Cannot use SEA BA lounge because your friend won't take SEA-ICN KE flight. (correct me if I'm wrong.) But he/she may use AS/QX lounge as long as SEA-YVR is also C/D fare. (not 100% sure, though.) Also can use KE's contracted YVR lounge.

Usually baggage is checked-in through final destination, but KE boarding pass "may" have to be issued at YVR airport. KE usually doesn't have very good co-operation with other airliners for boarding pass related stuff, until at least few years back. And AS is not skyteam, so I doubt. This part, your friend need to call KE office to confirm.
