Hilton HHonors - Specific questions about Italian Hiltons

I will be staying at 4 Hiltons in Italy soon, namely:

Hilton Sorrento
Florence Metropole
Venice Molino Stucky
Rome Cavallerri

I will be arriving to each city by train. I understand that each of these hotels have a shuttle service to / from town. I need to know where in town I can pick it up, and what the schedule is. I am looking for the email addresses of the managers or someone at these hotels who can provide specific information. I called the Diamond line and they were unable to provide email addresses, and they told me that they were also unable to call the hotels and get this information for me.

Does anyone have email addresses for a manager / anyone at these hotels? Alternatively, does anyone have the shuttle information I am looking for?

Thanks in advance.

Hi. We were just at the Cavalieri a week ago. The shuttle picks up from Piazza Barberini--there is a metro stop with a direct connection to the main train station.
The shuttle picks up once an hour on the hour but there is a few hours gap mid afternoon. Best to send an email to the concierge.

Cavalieri was wonderful to us--upgrade to the Imperial floor (husband is a diamond), lovely imperial lounge, great facility. As others have said the shuttle and distance to town is a drawback--must plan strategically or take a cab.

I don't recall a shuttle service for the Hilton in Sorrento. We took a taxi from the train station.

Form some reason that I wish someone would explain to me, both Starwoos and Hilton are reluctant/unwilling to provide e-mail addresses.

I suggest that you consider sending a fax. This worked for me recently in Tahiti. The fax numbers are on the web-site.

You might also take a look at the individual hotels on the UK version of hilton.com where you will fine a form that will enable you to send comments to the hotel.

But the best approach is to do a search for each hotel here on FlyerTalk where there is a wealth of information discussed regareding local transfers to each of the hotels on your itinerary.

Cavalieri - has been answered already.

Florence Metropole - picks up from train station hourly (leave station at main entrance, turn right towards taxis, turn right at corner where the front of taxi queue is, and walk further up - that's where the shuttle stops). Again, stops for a few hours in afternoon - think from 12.30 to 3.30 - check with concierge as suggested

Venice - all info is on the hotel's own .com site, do a Google search - you can take the public 42 or 2 (double check for accuracy) boat from station direct to hotel (short walk away - see the main Hilton Venice thread for info), far cheaper than any other method - rates for all methods are on that website.

Don't know about Sorrento, sorry!

If you want to send an email to the Concierge at the Cavalieri there is a link on their website www.romecavalieri.com.

Have just got back from this hotel and it really is wonderful. The shuttle is fine but I think that when you first arrive in Rome it might be much easier to get a taxi to the hotel. You will not have to make your way to the Piazza Barberini with your luggage and wait for the shuttle. When we were there taxis ranged from 12 to 16 euros.

I've stayed at all except the Sorrento. I wrote a review for Florence here http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hilton-hhonors/930767-hilton-florence-metropole-hotel-trip-reports-reviews.html.

There is good information about Molino at this thread http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hilton-hhonors/131353-hilton-molino-stucky-venice.html

If you have further questions, ask away.

No shuttle at the Sorrento hotel. Be aware that taxis have this huge fare jump for short local rides and those that go to the Hilton (goes up about 4x in one jump).

As for the Rome Cavalieri, Piazza Barberini is a fairly short walk downhill from Roma Termini rail station. My partner and I have done the opposite with luggage.

I was dropped off by bus from Rome to Sorrento at Piazza Tasso. Took a taxi to Hilton was 15 Euro IIRC. Piazza Tasso is a bit closer to Hilton than the train station but not much.

If you decided to take the shuttle from Piazza Barberini to Rome Cavalieri, the bus drop off/pick up place is at the Piazza Barberini is near the cross of Via Vittorio Veneto. You are at the right place if you see a small fountain on the side walk. Need to contact the hotel for shuttle hours as it varies.

Call the hotels directly. It costs like three cents a minute to call Italy, and it will give you the best answers to your questions.
