If you happen to run short of Frequent flyer miles, you can also purchase Top Up miles at US$ 25 per 1,000 miles.

Nice one, I'll have to take a look now. I guess Asia gets the worst aircraft again - unless I can get on one of the old Cedar jets. :)

Maybe not.
With the 777's around the ac they wont be using will be the older owned A340's. Thus chances are that A330 or one of the refurbished A340's is high on cards. Besides I think the 777 is being used for Asia on some routes?
The 777 lease however may not be around for long it seems. GF may well be pinching other 787 customers slots who are pulling orders or delaying due to economic situ so GF may well have their 787's alot sooner. Just rumour at this stage-unable to confirm.

If I believe rumors than the GF deal with 9W will not go further and by the looks of it GF pilots are not going to training on 777 and 9W staff is not longer planing to go down to GF sites.

Just booked FRA-BAH-FRA with A 340 and A 330, seat on both flights is 1A. So my miles from the DUB-LHR-MCT-BKK deal 3 years ago are burned.

So only a couple of regulars have admitted booking, here.
I'd have loved to have used my miles but April-May isn't realistic.
This kind of promotion tends to happen this time of year, so I'm not surprises.
...just hoping it may be possible, in these days of GFC, to offer it again in six months for November/December.

I assume I can use the GF lounge in LHR and the F Lounge in BAH when travelling on a miles ticket in F?

That is an understatement.
I fly them for convienence and relatively good price. I'm based in the KSA, thus fight traffic across the causeway opens up alot more possilbities. They have a great non stop to BKK and MNL that I have taken several times.
I'm going BAH-BKK in July with an august return. The old planes tick me off but such is life.
