Best Western Rewards - 12,000 point promo mentioned in IF and WebFlyer with no link doesn't seem to exist???

I saw the following in InsideFlyer magazine this month, and got all excited, but when I went back to look it up, I realized there was no link. I looked all around the Besst Western website and saw nothing resembling it. I then googled for "Best Western Apr May Aug" and found 1000 bonus miles promos at Best Western, but the only mention of the 12,000 points promo was at WebFlyer:

http://www.webflyer.com/programs/program_guide/program.php?program=BW01

"Hotel bonus:
Award: 12,000 bonus points
Expires: 5/31/2009
Restrictions: Stay any two qualified nights between April 6 and May 31, 2009, then stay at least one night between June 1 and Aug. 31, 2009, to earn the bonus."

with again no link (all other promos listed there do have a link).

Is this a cruel April Fools joke or something?

I only have an interest in big bonus points, not travel cards, so the difference between what IF/WebFlyer lists and what Best Western lists is to me the difference between wanting to stay at Best Western in May versus wanting to pick other hotel chains instead!

No, that's a link for a different expired promo, which had nothing in common with this except the 12k points. It was for all of 2008, only for new members, and required 4 stays.

Got reply back that yes it does exist and they registered me for it along with the 50$ travel card promo. Just click on customer service and mention offer with your membership # and they will rgstr u for this. They didn't provide any link so I guess that's the game plan.

Well, I emailed them and they told me that it doesn't exist! I don't understand how they could have enrolled you and now claim it doesn't exist when I ask them to enroll me.

But I see in another thread here that they took an offer that was for 1k bonus points per night (repeatable) after buying a $100 BW gift card, and changed it mid-stream to be 3k bonus points for the first stay only. So this seams a nasty pattern: They keep announcing promos where you can earn lots of points, and then taking them back it seems!

Good think Choice is bring back 14,000 points for every 3 stays starting May 21 for the summer. (Except that there are some locations that have BWs and no Choice hotels, and that's why I'd be interested in accumulating some BW points. But BW seems to want to make it too difficult with these promos that change midstream...)

Sounds like a great deal. I would like to know why they make the points systems so large in the number of point you know any idea why?

Sounds like a great deal. I would like to know why they make the points systems so large in the number of point you know any idea why? To give the people in Marketing something to do/ wow the customer w/"impressive" point totals. It was at a lower point total/accumulation rate about a year back, then they switched to this for reasons I can't remember.
