Best Western Rewards - Points never expire but deleted anyway

Given that Best Western Rewards or Gold Crown Club or whatever its called this week probably offers the least valuable benefits of the major hotel rewards programmes, I'm not sure many people will actually read this thread. However, if anyone is knowledgeable on this I'd appreciate some help.

I logged into my account today to find all my points wiped. The site says that points exisiting and earned since 2006 never expire. The problem is my account says my last stay was in February 2008 but in fact I had a valid stay more recently but they haven't credited any points (and I forgot to check until now). My question is, is there any small print that says accounts are wiped after a period of inactivity? I can't find anything.

I no longer have any proof of my missing stay as all my expense receipts have long since been submitted. I do find however that whereas Hilton, Starwood and Holiday Inn always credit points (I can't recall a single error in the last five years), Best Western seem to require a manual points claim on every second stay, especially in Europe.

You have nothing to lose by calling and FT rule #1 applies (if you don't like the answer, hang up and dial again).

Are you sure the receipt isn't available to you? Is there someone in accounting that owes you a favor or would like to?
