CONS:
No points
No stays credited with Govt rates
No upgrade certs with Govt rates
Very few cities to choose from

I'm a big fan of the Omni SelectGuest. They're in the process of revamping it, so the June article may be very timely. Instead of the two tier basic and Gold levels, it's going to be a three tier Silver, Platinum, and Black. (http://www.omnihotels.com/Home/SelectGuestProgram/MemberBenefits/Benefits.aspx)
Two free beverages in the morning is very nice.
Free internet is a big plus (a lot of other marquee hotel chains will charge unless you're an upper elite member - even the newbie select guest gets free internet at Omni)
2 free items pressed is very sweet (unlimited pressed items at Black Level)
Free bottle water (this service is spotty, but I usually ask for a bottled water in the morning - and it's usually a tall glass bottle of Evian)
Free newspaper (but most hotels do that anyway)
I always stay at the Fed Gov't rate and they've always counted my stays (post above indicates otherwise). I don't think they provide me FF credit though - but I don't really care much about that.
