I cannot figure out the premium rates these companies are charging out of San Diego Airport. Anyone have an answer?

It usually means they are trying to hang on to the cars at a location and discourage one way rentals.
We had the same situation out of PHX last week when they wanted to hang on to certain car classes for Nascar here in PHX this weekend. I saw one way rates starting at about $235 per day upwards of $800 per day. Right now we are de-fleeting so our rates From PHX to certain locations will be dirt cheap starting at the end of the weekend again.
