American Express Membership Rewards - UK plat renewal hotel status

Hi,

Only had a UK plat for a few months now. I've done a search but just want to get a full answer; when I renew my account will I keep SPG gold even If I don't gain enough stays on the account?

From a search it's apparent that I'll loose the rest (Hilton, Goldpints...) if I don't re-qualify for gold but I'm not sure about SPG.

Anybody have any experience?

You should keep SPG gold.

At first, they sent me the basic card on renewal. A call to AmEx sorted this, and in subsequent years I received the SPG gold card automatically.

As you point out, Hilton gold is just for one year. I've kept the nomination form in case I need to use it in the future.

SPG Gold definitely renews even if unused. :rolleyes:

You should keep your Goldpoints Silver as well - it is only Hilton Gold that is only valid for the first year
