Hey there,

I basically want to book a flight from CPH to ICN via BKK in August with TG.

As i am in the process of shifting from TG's ROP to Asiana's program. I would like to credit the flight into Asiana's program. I am pretty sure it is qualifying miles in the asiana's program as is a Q class ticket.

But here comes my question, I wanted to used my ROP miles to upgrade from Y to C class.

Is it possible to credit my TG flight into asiana's program yet using my ROP points to upgrade the flight? TG respondent says it is fine and they can do it but i wonder whether Asiana would allowed in this scenario.

Anyone knows about it?

I don't see that Asiana has anything to do with this. It's strictly up to TG if they'll allow you an upgrade or not. You're only using Asiana to collect the miles, which Q class does earn 100%. You will not get credited for business class miles because you're updating with miles, not cash.

right, i am just worried that since i am going to used ROP's mileage to upgrade my class. Asiana won't allowed me to credit my Q class ticket under them as 2 separate frequent flyer program were being used.

You should be fine. Once you have the upgrade confirmed tell TG to remove your ROP number from the system and to enter the OZ number.

If things turn really bad you can still ask TG later to not credit and send the boarding passes to OZ. This will be major work however so try to avoid this at all cost.

It works fine, I have upgraded with TG Gold upgrade and credited to UA.

Your bigger problem is 14 C seats on the CPH-BKK flight, I don't think I've ever seen any award/upgrade I class available.
