Choice Privileges - Choice Free Night Promo question

My husband is a member of Choice Privileges. He had two separate stays at Choice hotels during this Free night promo. He uses his Choice Visa to pay for the stays and he is also a Platinum member. His points posted to his account, along with his platinum bonus points for both stays. His "free night" points posted today but only for 5000 points. I thought it was supposed to be 8000 points for the bonus free night. I called but the rep would not talk to me since the account is my husbands. Before I have him call back, I wanted to see if I was missing something on this promotion. Any ideas??

The 8k bonus is calculated from the "base" points - the additional bonus from being a platinum member doesn't apply.

Stay one = 1200 base points
Stay two = 1200 base points + 5600 "free night" points

Add 'em up for a total of 8k. The bonus point %age from whatever level you are at i.e. platinum or diamond are an add on on a per night basis.

ok thanks I didn't realize that's how the bonus points worked. His base points for the 2 stays = 6150, but then we got the 5000 free night bonus credit. I guess this works to my advantage after all. Thanks for the clarification.

I completed my second stay about 5 weeks ago but still no bonus points in my account. Has anyone else had this experience?

I'd say its time to call Choice. That is WAY too long for points to post.

Indeed. I did four nights a couple weeks ago. All points and bonuses were correctly posted within 48 hours on the first two, 72 hours on the second pair.

or send a missing stay/credit request through the website, they resolved it in 2 days when I had to file one.
