I am looking to stay at the Orleans Hotel at the end of September and was wondering when the room specials usually become available.
I am part of their email list and saw recently that they offered a great spring special.
If anyone has stayed at the Orleans recently and can give me a rundown of the hotel and rates.... that would be most helpful.
thanks.....

Wait until about 4-8 weeks out from your desired trip dates for offers. Peruse other sites like Travelzoo around that period too for offers.

Have you signed up on their new web site (B Connected)?
I agree with the previous poster - deals won't be available until 1-2 months out from your travel date and will vary based on expected occupancy due to conventions and events during your stay.
If price is your primary consideration, you should consider not limiting yourself to one hotel choice. Even in off-peak times a particular hotel may have an event booked that hikes their rates while other comparable properties may be bargains...

Yes, I am on bconnected..... thanks!
I just might look into another property for Friday and Saturday stay. Price is a factor for my party of 4. We are not cheap but budget minded.
I have heard really good things about the Orleans. They have a good deal right now with a $100 room credit when you book 2 nights. Unfortunately, it ends Sept 3rd and we are not flying in until the 25th.
I have been to the Sahara twice and they have decent rates posted at vegas.com for our travel dates.
Since this is a Vegas forum......... I would appreciate any input on renting a mini-van at McCarren.
Who is the best to deal with and who to stay away from:-:
Once again looking for a deal

Try Thrifty car rental for minivan but you'll get a better rate closer towards your trip dates. Book something now and keep checking the rates and switch if you get a better one. If you want to gamble ;), Thrifty has a Wild Car selection which allows you to pick any car within a section and sometimes they have minivan/SUVs to choose from for the price of a midsize.

I have heard really good things about the Orleans.
I've stayed there a couple times, most recently in January when I drove down to visit friends. PHOTOS (http://tom911.smugmug.com/gallery/3902526_z6nTs#226343670_rFdAe)
We stayed at the Orleans for two nights in December at either $25 or $35 a night (I forget) plus food and gaming credits. Found the offer off of Travelzoo.
We found the hotel to be very solid. Would not hesitate to stay there again if I found the right deal. It's really easy to get to and from the strip (with a stop at In N Out in between:)) with a car but I still like the convenience of just stepping out of the hotel onto the strip. Thought the gaming was ok. Good blue collar crowd. Some really great food specials in their cafe (tho some not available during weekends). Quite a number of food choices. Found the staff to be friendly enough. Room was good sized.
We've booked compacts from Dollar and Simply Wheelz (by Hertz). Ended up getting upgraded to a mini-van by Dollar once. Generally have had no issues with either of them (just had to correct an incorrect OUT time with Dollar once without any hassle). Getting your car is pretty quick if you are a Dollar Express member and book your car online. Simply Wheelz was a little bit more confusing because we had to go through a number of questions using a self serve kiosk. Either way, we've always bypassed a large line at the regular counter.
