This is a really simple poll as the title indicates. I tweaked it slightly to indicate whether you fly with your pet as a carryon (in cabin) or as checked luggage. I also added one slightly OT choice which I am sure you will figure out. :)

Well, I would have picked the last one but I haven't yet flown with my pets since the rate hike... and since my next with-pet flight would be around Xmas, I'll have to wait and see (a) whether fees are reduced [haha], (b) whether I think I can afford them [hahaha!], or (c) whether not taking the pets ends up more expensive than taking them.
So, I picked option 1 with a waitlist on option 4. :)

When pet fees were reasonably priced ($50-75) I used to take my dog everywhere and never thought twice about it. Now with the pet fee charge often times more money than the cost of my ticket I really have to think about it before doing so.

WE have two cats; but I would never consider travelling with them unless we were moving.
I have seen how scared our "Just Jack" was when he had to fly when we moved before and I would never want to put them through that unnecessarily.

I used to fly with my Yorkie, Willy, all the time until he died in 2007.
Charlie the Schnoodle is too big to fly under the seat and I would not likely fly with him as cargo. I would drive first. But, if he fit in the cabin, I would fly with him but the cost would certainly affect how often I could do it.
