Asiana Club - Schedule Change with only 25min in ICN possible?

I've got an award booking on OZ SYD-ICN-KIX (OZ602 and OZ116). Originally there was around 1 or 2 hours (can't remember exactly) connection time in ICN. However, I just logged onto checkmytrip and saw that there has been a schedule change and it now says that I have only 25 min between the two flights. However, it says that all is confirmed.
When I check the same itinerary on the OZ website I only get connections requiring an overnight stop in ICN with an early morning flight to KIX. So, I'm wondering whether they will actually rebook me onto the next day morning flight or whether they will hold the plane for all connecting pax in ICN?
If they rebook me, are we entitled to an STPC hotel room/meals at ICN paid for by OZ? Should I contact OZ directly or the airline I booked the award with (BMI)?
We've also booked non-refundable hotel for the first night in KIX, so if we won't be able to use it I'm wondering who will cover the cost of that hotel night?

25 minutes in ICN is below minimum connection time therefore you are rebooked on the following morning flight. They will not hold the plane for you.
Unfortunately you not entitled to STPC paid for by OZ since you are on award. You should call BD which issued you with an award as OZ did not ticket your award.
OZ is not liable for your incurring cost as it is their right to change schedule for their operational need and neither is BD. Yes, it is in very grey part of the booking but there's noting you can do about your non-refundable hotel in KIX.

I ran into a similar situation with a *A award booked through US on both OZ and SQ. SQ made a schedule change that created a misconnection through ICN. I worked with US to find a solution. We were ultimately able to re-book through BKK and on a more direct routing through to LAX. Although my case specifics are different the fact remains...it is BMI's responsibility and in accordance with IATA protocol to find a resonable solution for your case whether it is a rebooking for a better routing or covering hotel costs at ICN. BLUF - BMI is the only carrier that can find a solution for you. They'll do all the interface with OZ for you.
Good luck!

So, the plot thickens. I've checked all the possible award airlines TG, SQ, CA, NZ and OZ and none of them have award availability for the date we need. So, I'm stuck at the moment.
To be honest I can't believe that OZ could get out of paying for our hotel in ICN due to their schedule change. They are the only reason why we can't make the connection and don't I have a binding contract with them regardless as to whether this is an award or revenue ticket? How can they not be liable for this scenario? I just don't understand the reason behind this. I've booked a ticket solely on OZ, they change their flight schedule which causes a misconnect and requires now a night in ICN, how can they ask me to pay for the hotel then?

I know you are upset that you have to pay for your hotel but seriously, list some airlines that pay for involuntary overnight for passengers on award tickets.
It's the norm. Accept it or fly on different dates.

They should let you move to different flights or dates that are not sold out regardless of the kind of ticket you have (super saver, capacity controlled award, etc), or, if everything that is workable is sold out, refund the ticket.
Hand pick alternative flights before calling.
Ask to talk to supervisors, not just regular reservation clerks, on the phone.

AllanJ, OP is talking about change in his schedule and OZ has already accomodated him to a next available flight. He is talking about forced overnight.

LH, LX, OS and most European carriers (as they are forced to do so by EU regulations).

Well, JL, NH, SQ, TG, KE, OZ are not providing as no regulations are forcing them to do so.
Just gotta accept the reality.

This doesn't apply if the passengers are notified at least two weeks in advance.
