Online Travel Booking and Bidding Agencies - Problem with Expedia based cancellation "Clearing" from Itineraries?

Last night I ended up booking and canceling 2 different Itineraries that I had purchased on Expedia. I gave them a call, said I needed to cancel and that both had been purchased within 24 hours, and they said everything was taken care of.

Today, I log onto my DL.com account and can still see the "middle" flights of both itineraries that were supposedly canceled by Expedia. I called them back and they assured me both were in fact canceled, but why are they still showing as active under my DL.com itineraries? Should I be concerned?

Thanks, I don't have much experience with Expedia.

I think the way Orbitz works is that when they get your cancellation request they need to enter it into the system. Usually around midnight all the old reservations clear out of your DL PNR. Possibly the middle flights are still there because Delta has not entered your seat into their inventory and it will update soon. Lets say you booked in a S Class then that inventory will have to go back into the system as "S class". Are you with me so far?

DL usually does this in bulk so if there are 100 cancellations all of it will go back into the system at once. Be sure to check your credit card statement for a pending charge. If there are any issues you may want to call both Orbtiz and the Delta Refunds department as sometimes they have issues.
