Will be in San Antonio during the week (hopefully, cheaper?) and will plan on doing the following:

1) Sea World - 2 days -- would like to really see everything at my leisure
2) 1 FULL day at schillterbahn
3) 1 FREE day in San Antonio -- suggestions, please

All dinners will beat the Riverwalk so I would really appreciate your suggestions. No mexican food since I get enough the real stuff in El Paso.

I will be staying at the HIX by Sea World and will have my own car.

Any advice/suggestions will be much appreciated.

thanks

Personally, I think the RW is over-rated... 3 hours and you can be done with it, including a meal. For a good meal, you HAVE to try County Line BBQ. There's also an Italian place right next to County Line, but I can't recall their name. My wife said the ruins outside of SA are wonderful (much better than The Alamo, but I didn't make it outside of town due to a conference when I was there for multiple days. Also, just because the hotel says "Sea World" doesn't mean anything. I once stayed at the Hampton "Sea World" for meetings and it was quite a hike from the park. I was expecting to see signs or park stuff near the hotel but there were none. I have to run, but if I think of anything else, I'll let you know what comes to mind.

One word of caution. Do not plan on going to the Alamo on Wednesday (or anywhere downtown for that matter), the San Antonio Tea Party is that day at Alamo Plaza (that is if you don't want to attend it, at 4PM Glenn Beck will be filming his TV show for Fox Live.)

As far as food is concerned I don't really know any besides those that are on the North Side of town, but if you want a good steak try the Texas Roadhouse on 1604 and 281 N, I know its a chain but Wow they have some good steaks!!!

how is the lost lagoon at Sea World? Is this a real waterpark or like 10 rides?

I was thinking about getting a fun pass and then cancelling Schillterbahn to save some money. I believe entrance to the lost lagoon is included in the price.

It's more like 4 rides and a pool :) I would stick with Schlitterbahn.
