Apparently NZ now has Hot Bacon Rolls in in J for breakfast which will make a nice change from the omelette or hot cakes.
Has anyone tried them - are they tasty? Can I ask to have one without the BBQ sauce?
I love Bacon Rolls.
Yes, they were introduced in the April catering change. I had them on LAX-LHR and LHR-HKG in Business recently.
LAX-LHR the roll was hot, the bacon was cold (go figure), LHR-HKG was pretty good. The sauces come on the side, and the sauces for the sectors were different. ISTR that LAX-LHR had BBQ sauce on the side, LHR-HKG had worcestershire sauce and ketchup.
After 2 sectors of business service and a slight hangover, the bacon roll coming into HKG was fantastic. It has remarkable healing powers ;).

Tried them recently on LHR-HKG, basically your classic bun, sliced with bacon inside and BBQ sauce (IIRC) on the side. Decent, and likely a good hangover killer, definately a new and interesting alternative to your hot breakfast, but in terms og quality nothing extraordinary.
Unfortunately NZ does not seem to serve them on PEK or PVG flights.

Unfortunately NZ does not seem to serve them on PEK or PVG flights.
Because they would not be looked at favourably by Chinese passengers (even though a majority of C class passengers are European).
Similar reason why ice cream is not served in Y class.
