American Express Membership Rewards - FHR: Quasi Back to Back Booking
Hi All,
Let's say you were staying somewhere for 4 nights, 2 cardmembers. Is it okay to book all 4 nights seperatly, with cardmember A for the 1st and 3rd nights, B for nights 2 and 4?
1:A
2:B
3:A
4:B
Thanks.

Is there a reason why you want to do this? Is there a special comp for a specific benefit for a "stay"? If so, I'm pretty sure you can do it, but you have to check in and check out multiple times, and I guess you get 4 gifts out of it.
May be a bit more of a hassle that it seems?

Perhaps if 4 nights are booked in one reservation and there is no space available upgrade on check-in available for one of the nights, the OP won't get upgraded at all?
However, if each night is booked seperately, they have better chance of getting a space available upgrade (even if it is only for certain nights)?
On a seperate note, I once booked two 1 night stays at a certain hotel as they would offer complimentary "afternoon tea once per stay". By making it two stays, I got two afternoon teas. However, I had to call the hotel in advance and they agreed to let me keep the same room for both stays (except that I would have to go to the front desk each afternoon to check-out [with 4PM late check-out] and then check-in again to the same room).

Sounds good to me, I would do the same :)

We're Cent. therefore its guaranteed at booking; :D
The downside is the potential of having to change rooms every night. Depending on the hotel you could ask to keep the same room, but then they might not want to extend the benefit each night.

In this enviorment do what ever you want and if the hotel has a problem they should loose your business imho. The only issue you may have is if you use your one particular amex travel rep she may not want to do the booking.
Thanks for all the quick replies. I've done it before to capitalize on the free MO benefit. None of the MO's had any problems with it -- and all of them actually told me before I asked that we could stay in the same room.
I decided to do 2 nights instead of 4 just because were going somewhere else right after, but I still get the benefit twice. Thanks.
