Asiana Club - F lounge access in ICN: Asiana staff are on many different pages

There seems to be a lack of uniform training/information for the ICN lounge staff.

I traveled JFK-ICN in F, connecting to ICN-PEK in C. Went to the Business lounge when it opened at 5am, asked if I was entitled to use F lounge, and was told that F lounge is only for those departing in F. Fine, that's what I thought.

Took a nice shower, had a coffee and a roll, and was passing the time watching the fog roll in. At about 6.30, a lady who checked me in to the lounge came over to me, asked if I'd flown in F from JFK, and then told me I could go over to the F lounge. Whoop-whoop, how very exciting, and off I trundled.

To find that the F lounge didn't actually open until 6.50. So I cooled my heels for 10 mins, then walked up to the desk, showed my boarding passes, and was told I was unwelcome. I really didn't much care about getting in to the lounge, but I did mention that the C lounge hostess invited me to go to the F, so the F lady smiled and let me in.

Not really an enormous upgrade from C to F. More real food instead of packaged stuff (real food hadn't come yet in C), carpeted floors instead of wood, nicer bathrooms, and a resting room if you want it. Worse view from F than from C: F gets a parking lot for cars, C a parking lot for airplanes.

Bottom line: both are very nice lounges, and I would not lose any sleep over being in the C rather than F. However, it would be a nice idea if everyone on the Asiana lounge staff had moe or less the same idea about who belongs where.

This is not uncommon with OZ and not just for ICN lounge staff. In general the answers you get from different people are very inconsistent. So I agree with you there is a lack of training.
I spent an hour on the phone explaining the Sydney office the new elite status rules.
