Qatar Airways Privilege Club - QATAR A345 at Sydney

On my way from Sydney to Brisbane this morning and saw a Qatar Airways a340 parked at Qantas hangers near Domestic terminal.

Final negotiations for the AUS routes perhaps or have they indeed commenced service??

Ironically it was parked very close to a brilliant Etihad A345 painted in F1 livery.

Ah well they wont all last on the Aus route just as GF didn't I think EY will emerge as winner in this segment. Esp considering its codeshare love relationship with Qantas to Abu Dhabi, Beirut, Dubai and I think Athens?
I hear EK is bleeding badly-doesn't bode well.

As I taxied past I saw all engine intakes covered and all window shades down. Looks like an extended stay. I thought it was a bit weird cus it didnt really look like an A345 but had no idea the royals owned an A342 and had it it standard QR livery.
