I certainly didn't see it this past week nor did I earn it this past week, but this morning, every restaurant that I've looked at (logged into AAdvantage Dining) shows 5 miles/$ today through Sunday, and following weeks Thursday through Sunday, but 10 miles/$ Monday through Wednesday both next week and the week after. (The calendar doesn't show further out than that.)
I've heard nothing official about this, but then it's nowhere near Monday yet. :)
Or is it a mistake?

It is possible that it is a mistake. I reported that United restos had doubled the number of miles, but it turned out to be a glitch.
However, I am happy to report that it shows up across AA, Delta, NW and United. So, I doubt that it is a mistake.
Thanks for pointing this out!

Interesting and smart; likely Idine will do a mass email in a day or two. I guess that I'll start to bring my lunch on Thursdays instead of Tuesdays.

Very cool - this may just be enough to make me go out and finish their silly little "Spring Break" promo. (With some of the AA bonuses out there, I've actually been flying to get my miles, instead of eating! :p Silly me!)
Thanks for the heads-up! :)

Just AMAZING how this "economics" thing works! Imagine that: they cut the rewards down by 1/2, and a whole slew of people stop caring! And their dining volume goes way down!
RN's Einsteins have now come to the conclusion that if the beancounters said the mileage purchases were "costing them too much" and cut their outlay, they might actually impair the concept of the business! Quick! Rush back to the participants and say "just kidding!" and offer 'em the old 10-mile reward on three nights!
My guess: 3/7 of us will take 'em up on it.
And then either the beancounters will make another charge at the expenses (and we'll see this limited to Monday and Tuesday only, after June), or the gallant Knights of Marketing will be emboldened and strike down the beancounters (meaning we'll get Thursdays at 10x, too, come July.....)
Hope they'd stabilize this program so you could decide whether you cared or not is probably asking too much. They are forever going to tinker with this in an attempt to provide graduate economics students with dissertation fodder.
I guess I'll start enjoying my dining less, eating at iDine more, and plan on pulling in miles again. But probably only the first of the week. I hope they're happy.

Why wait until the weekend to dine out? Start the week off right and earn DOUBLE REWARDS every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at any participating program restaurant, bar or club. There is no registration required. Simply dine out on those days to earn double AAdvantage® miles!
The DOUBLE REWARDS Promotion starts April 6 and ends June 30. And, if you're signed up for a bonus, it gets better! You can earn double AAdvantage® miles on dines that count toward your bonus, too!
On top of which, Lady JDiver got an e-mail stating:
Now that you're registered for the Spring Break Dining Bonus, make sure you spend at least $75 at any number of participating locations by 4/30/09 to earn your 500 AAdvantage® bonus miles.
Want even more? Earn double AAdvantage® miles when you dine on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays! Best of all, these dines also count toward earning your Spring Break Dining bonus!
In the parlance of economics, I am “Miles Elastic” and accordingly my three M-W Idines exceed $460 (this is what President Obama’s Economic Council calls “Pent-up Points Demand”).
I am shutting it down until Monday, when I will explore the Idineries of SAT. I will avoid temptation by not printing out options for my next stop, Austin. But, the “cracktop” beckons, so we will see if I have the courage of my convictions.

I noticed that on 4/22/09 (wed) that DL dining had 16 miles per $ listed for each dine. Great.
Went out to eat and it has posted now as only 10 per $.
Fired off an e-mail to them about whats going on.

I believe It was an error.
Once I saw on the RN website that there was an offer of 55 miles for each $1 spent. I called to confirm it and I was told that it was an error. Seconds later everything was returned to normal.

I think I'm seeing a big mistake on my AA dining. I have 3 programs - Delta, AA and Upromise. I'm VIP in Delta and AA and a Preferred Diner for Upromise.
Upromise gives either 4% or 8% rebate on dines for preferred diners and 2% or 4% for non-preferred diners.
That being said, my AA dining shows 40 miles/dollar and 20 miles/dollar. I took a screen shot, logged out then back in and got the same thing.
Anybody else see this happen?

Some restuarants are always DOUBLE MILES which means that they award 10 miles to a VIP on a regular basis instead of the normal 5 miles per dollar. Non- VIPs earn 6 miles instead of 3. During the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday promotion non- VIPs will earn 12 miles per dollar while VIPs will earn 20 miles.
I know nothing about the 40 miles.
I am VIP with AA, DL, and US.

I have done my (mostly) best to foment culture change at Idine. Since the beginning of M-W bonus days I have had 11 dines; nine dines for a total of $895 have been at 10 miles per dollar, two dines for a total of $368 have been at 5 miles per. More accurate numbers after the accountants close out the bonus period.
I am dark the last half of May into June when I have parlayed a two hour meeting in England into a two week trip to Paris and Amsterdam w/ my 18 y.o. jailette. My wife’s pretty annoyed that she’s not going (“times is hard”, I said, “someone has to stay home and work.”) so she will be eating out a lot. But, she is not converted to the Holy Mother Church, so any Idines will be random.

I’d lost 15 pounds, but, y’know, I’ve been travelling and my most sacred food rule is that there are no food rules when travelling. Accordingly, I don’t think that I weighed myself since skipping a few meals in Spain a couple of weeks ago. And, y’know, the 10 miles per dollar haven’t exactly helped either.

I had a $120 meal at an i-dine restaurant last Wednesday, May 6. I got an e-mail today saying:
You earned American Airlines AAdvantage® miles, but you could have earned more!
Thank you for participating in the AAdvantage DiningSM program. You recently earned AAdvantage® miles, but did you know you can earn more? Dine out with us on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and we'll give you double AAdvantage® miles! Yes, DOUBLE!
That's when I noticed that the date on my dine has been posted as May 7th! My restaurant receipt and credit card receipt both state May 6th, so I scanned them and send them off to AA Rewards Network for correction.
What are the odds that my dine from last night will have today's date? :D

I just noticed the same problem (a May 6 dine with a May 7 "transaction date") on one of my meals; is there a conspiracy to only give half the proper amout of points by altering the "transaction date"?

Once upon a time, back in the day when all iDine joints were 1x month only, I had a standing appointment on a Thursday near a restaurant in NYC, with a Fri/Sat blackout. Month after month I'd have to go through calling iDine, being told "All I can see is a Friday date, send in your receipt dated the day before for credit." It seems the restaurant batched all of their credit card transactions at closing (post-midnight); folks who dined on Saturdays (presumably) were automatically credited.

I had not kept a close watch on this - so just double checked my idine posting dates vs my receipt dates and came across the same problem.
To be honest for the miles involved I cant be bothered emailing them, scanning receipts,etc.. but there does seem to be a bug in the system.

I just returned from lunch at a joint that says 10 miles/dollar for today (12 miles with current Delta bonus actually). I don't think it'd be worth their while to set up extra programming to exclude one Monday holiday, as opposed to just giving the miles.
