Asiana Club - JFK-ICN-PEK on separate tickets

I'm traveling JFK-ICN-PEK on two tickets. The first is a JFK-ICN ticket issued by UA, the second is ICN-PEK issued by LH.

At JFK, I would expect to be able to check luggage through to PEK and to get boarding passes for the ICN-PEK flight. Does anyone have any similar experience to confirm or refute the expectation?

You will definitely be able to check-through luggage.

You will also almost certainly be able to obtain your next boarding pass, but this is not as guaranteed as through-checking luggage. Sometimes they seem to have trouble accessing the onward flight from the first airport check-in.

Is OZ operating both the flights?
