I know we've had a thread up about Encore vs. Wynn, but I am wondering specifically about the pool. I am booked to stay at a Tower Suite at Encore and have been told I could use either pool. I usually book a cabana while I am out there, so I have a few questions for you guys that have been out there already.

1. I've heard the Encore pool is smaller than Wynn--not taking cabanas into account, which pool would you rather use?

2. Are there any differences in cabanas between the two hotels? I'd be willing to use the Encore pool even if it isn't as good as the Wynn if the cabana is better.

3. I've heard that people staying in Tower Suites at Wynn get access to a private pool but that isn't given at Encore. Can Encore Tower Suites residents use the Tower Suites pool at Wynn? Is this an important thing to consider--how good is this private pool? Are there different cabanas on it?

Thanks for any info!!

I believe all the cabanas are around the main Wynn pool. There are no cabana on the Tower pool level (its one level above the main Wynn pool with a bridge that crosses over the main Wynn pool).

there are cabanas in the private pool area
cabana @ the TS pool was great...the ability to order from Tableau @ the pool was great
enjoyed the private Tower Suites pool and cabanas

second-floor cabanas feature balconies overlooking the pools.

VIP Tower Suite guests also have access to separate private Cabanas.

VIP Tower Suite Cabanas offer the same amenities along with a few more perks:
* Flat Screen TV
* Air Conditioning
* WiFi
* Mini-Bar
* Food Service From Tableau

1. I like Encore's more. While it is smaller, there's ample seating. Lots of lounge chairs, literally in the water and even day beds to use without having to pay extra or make reservations. The European pool at Encore was dead despite the great weather--makes me think that a lot of people don't even know it exists.

2. Encore's cabanas are much better. Larger and darker shades. Request one on the second floor overlooking the Euro pool.

3. Yes, Encore TS guests have access to Wynn TS pools. Those pools are small dipping pools more for lounging around than actually swimming in. The cabanas there have the small balconies, but are otherwise similar to the rest.

I have a reservation at Encore in few weeks. I normally like to play BJ at the outdoor tables at the Wynn. I was wondering how Encore's gaming area by the pool compares?

Encore has a nice gaming area near the European pool. Very nice.

I'm staying specifically at Wynn instead of Encore for my summer visit because of the pool. Tower Suites pool is nice and more private. We do the cabana thing. Even though Encore guests have use of the Wynn pool, location of the Wynn Tower Suites to the Tower Suites pool can't be beat.

Correction: Wynn Tower Suite pools DO have cabanas... Just clearing that up. They have some pretty nice corner units with up to two separate balconies.

If it were up to me, I'd take Encore's pool scene over Wynn's. Newer cabanas with better design. If you're really into BEING in the water, it's Wynn all the way.

I just got an offer for Wynn Free - $99 - Free - $99 (mid week). With "upgrade" to Encore if available.

Are there any restrictions about using the Encore pool if you are staying at the Wynn?

I'm guessing the key will let you in either pool.

Encore guests get access to both, Wynn guests do not. This is due to Encore's small pool and limited seating area.

Does anyone know if this is still true? If so, is it just first come/first serve? Also, I was there about six weeks ago on a Saturday and it was packed. Are weekdays more open?

When I was there a few weeks ago the beds had signs about how to reserve them. I would be amazed if any hotel in Vegas would have first come first served for that type amenity, and let people use them for free, that is not the Vegas way.

Weekdays are less crowded.

Having just returned from my 15th trip to Wynn/Encore this year alone, it was a madhouse for the 4th. ... Never again.

Pools: If you're staying in a tower suite at Wynn, you have access to either pool, not just the upper-deck of Wynn's pool. While Wynn remained at capacity for most of this past weekend, it seemed as if Encore was somehow empty. Pool loungers open everyday. Cabanas freely available. Impeccable service from the staff.

Unfortunately, Wynn's pool service was SLAMMED. They didn't handle it well and put far too few people on the floor to handle the cramped holiday traffic. This trip was my first real disappointment with the property, even if much of the problems came with the rowdy, shirtless, crass guests who seemed to lurk around every corner.

Unfortunately low airfares + low room rates + cutbacks in staff = what you experienced.

That's what I heard from a couple of locals that I see fairly frequently.

I just spoke with a cabana host at Encore.

On weekdays, cabanas are $300, as are the daybeds in the water. The round daybeds outside of the water at the European pool are $200.
