Air New Zealand Air Points - what happened with NZ758 MEL-WLG?

I suspect I fear what the answer is (cut back due to lack of demand),

I came back from MEL on NZ 758 [the 18:30 late flight] on Sunday two weekends ago, but the flight appears to have vanished when I was looking for booking it in a couple of months time?

Is this flight only a summer seasonal thing, or has it got the axe due to the "global crunch"?

I would have thought the ability to do a days work in MEL and then get back to WEL on the same day would have ensured the flight would have been well patronised , maybe I was mistaken

I've looked around AirNZ's PRs and these forums but cannot find any announcement on the demise of this service.

Schedules are adjusted seasonally, according to demand. 758 is currently scheduled for Fridays only from April 3. I presume it'll be back to more frequency next spring/summer.

I don't know the reason, but MEL-WLG was never hugely patronised. I used to commute to Melbourne weekly, out Monday back Friday. There was about 10 regulars on the flight; and loads were regularly under 60 pax and often only 1-2 in business.

It doesn't surprise me that it has been cut back; but it is pretty annoying as it would impact day trippers and we do have a few of those at work.
